I have a low score in quant GRE. My major was Accounting and work experience has been quant heavy. Does it make sense to take HBS CORE (I’ve taken all those classes in UG) or MBA Math/a math class from Berkeley?
Has/did anyone find that their curiosity or number of interests hinder them in figuring out what they wanted to do with or after an MBA? Some days i could see myself trying to go into IB for a few years, but i have a lot of other personal interests that i could see myself trying to make a career out of. I’ve been thinking about taking the GMAT for two years but because of Covid/me not deciding what i want to do, i haven’t decided if i want to go down the mba route. Turning 28 soon
Anyone here from Accenture S&C MC Capability Network can give inputs on salary brackets for L9 ..? Does it differ for tier1 and tier2 mba? Also how much time it takes to go from L9 to the next level? Accenture
Me, my brother, and my parents have a family dog in midwest. He's been with us for 4 years now! I am his primary carer and he loves me the most. However, I am planning on starting my MBA in Boston next year. I really want to take him with me, but I won't be home most of the time with classes and networking. So I am planning on leaving him with the family for 2 years (of course I will be visiting) Will he think I abandoned him? Other family members love him too! Just not as much as I do.
Is it possible to move into Management consulting roles without an MBA? If yes, which companies can I apply to?
Anyone actually keep their PHR active? I got my cert in 2013 and have done nothing since.
Hi all, as a Talent Acquisition Partner that is looking to start expending my Professional education, would you recommend pursuing SHRM-CP certification?
Post-job, pre-MBA checklist? In terms of things like benefits, health insurance, moving points over, etc ... anything I should be aware of or take care of before leaving?
Hi, I graduated from St. John's university in May 2021. I am currently enrolled in St.John's MBA program studying strategic management. I am looking for a consulting role, and would really appreciate a referral.
Thoughts? Which is more competitive for HSW MBA: Stay on 1 year and get promoted to manager at MBB (3 YOE at promotion) or exit as an associate to a top PE fund but forgo the manager promotion? Hoping to differentiate my app and could always try and exit after promo but aiming to apply in 2023 and would have very limited time in the new role
How long did it take you/do you plan to pay off your student loans especially a $200k MBA? Any tips on accelerating the process?

Thoughts on EMTM (Executive Masters of Science in Technology Management) degrees from top ivies or MIT and Stanford, are they worth it and valuable if not competitive against EMBA and MBA holders from these schools in consulting for moving up?

Hey All, I am looking to buy an investment property (this would be my first property) and I finally found one that I like but just found out that it’s in flood zone. Given it’s my first big investment, would you guys suggest me to look for another property or go ahead with this one and just buy flood insurance? What else should I be taking into consideration here?
My wife’s EB3 filing is current but she is stuck with me outside US without H1b stamp. Can i485 be filed while H1b employee is out of the US? Is biometric allowed via embassies in such case?
New to the Bowl, greetings to all. I have a question for the sales leaders in the group about the design of sales comp plans. We are in professional services and our customers are about 50:50 retained and project-based. As such, we have an appetite for steady new business acquisition in addition to a need to provide excellent account management. Our gigs are usually in the 150K-750K range. Our BD process is very consultative, 99% of our leads are inbound. <more...>
Which form of marketing (brand vs. product), does a typical Strategy Consulting role best prep for as a realistic exit? Also, between brand vs. product, marketing which is a more preferable exit?
My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.
I've been a yeild analyst at a big publisher the last 8 months. I'm taking on work beyond me role and excelling. I love my workplace and team, and this place sets me up for the career trajectory I want. Another offer fell into my lap recently, 20% more pay, better benefits, 100% remote, and I'd get experience trading. Despite only having 8 months of programmatic and some media buying down, I was offered a senior role, that I don't feel I know enough to be effective at. Am I overthinking this?
10 weeks pregnant with twins. Starting testing on Friday with my obgyn then fetal specialist end of the month. Does anyone have any experience with twins, testing, tough decisions, and being over 35. Im freaking out over twins as I’m 36 and did fertility treatment to get pregnant. I didn’t think it would work and boom, first try, timed intercouse with meds, two babies. I’m a very small person and nervous about the health of both babies as well as my own. Any advice or experience here?
What would be the reasons to be classified as an exempt employee and not get OT? Bc of covid?
Have you ever been fired from a job? What are your strategies for getting back on for feet?
25M I feel like I really screwed up. I left consulting (promoted there) last year to join an early stage startup. Got laid off during covid and joined an emerging PE fund, however the PE fund doesn’t have cash on hand to retain another person. So lost not sure what to do. This all happened since last October. Any thoughts
Has anyone successfully negotiated time off (thinking 1 month) before starting at a new company? Any tips?
Gen corp associate looking to lateral to Austin. What are the best corporate teams in Austin (work, culture, hours), particularly those with a great tech or ECVC focus?
Starting application process to FAANG and other tech firms. For those who have recruited, what’s the end-to-end timeframe? Trying to see when to start the process if my goal is to leave by end of October. I also will be able to get referrals from google, fb, and amazon, not sure if that speeds up the process . Thank you
Had some slightly atypical but severe COVID-like symptoms this weekend - tested negative with both rapid and PCR on Sunday, the day after symptoms started and the day they peaked; is it ok to go to restaurants/gym as usual? How likely is false negative PCR
How does a consultancy within a holding company maintain its bench, when it's constantly eating margin?
As someone who's currently actively applying I wanted to get some insights on large companies vs startups and what are some of the pros and cons for each and which you prefer. Thanks!
I’m freelancing at an agency and there’s a chance I’ll have to WFH a few hours over the holidays. Would it be weird/rude to charge x1.5 or x2 my rate cause it’s normally time off?
Current project is very chill and management likes me/gives good reviews but I’m not challenged and do not lead others. I’ve considered switching projects to go up early (SC year2). I am six weeks pregnant, first pregnancy at 33. The other reason I wonder about going up early is that I’m not sure I want to be going up during year3 after being out on maternity leave and life drastically changing. I started my professional career late so feel like I’m playing catch-up too, any advice? Thanks!
