Anyone else aiming for early retirement targeting a $12M nest egg? I figure you can pretty much live any life style you want at $1k / day, and that gives you a 3% withdrawal rate. Going for the FAT Fire 🤙

RE investment all out of state I'm cheaper areas where the price to rent ratios make sense. Plus our primary residence has appreciated 300k in a few yrs.

That’s amazing! Curious to hear your background and role at google. Others can benefit from learning what career path can lead to this kind of financial freedom. Keep it up!

$12M would be terrific in retirement, no matter when you retire, but how long does it take someone to get there is the big question!

Thought/question I have been wondering for a while below.

I am about to start looking for engagement rings…. Thoughts on finding a jeweler that also sells Rolex’s and possibly try to get a bundle deal (looking for spend around 20ish k on the ring and just a datejust for the watch)?

I am in NYC but open to surrounding areas if anyone has any jeweler suggestions.

No idea if this is a stupid thought but figured it would be worth seeing if anyone has any experience or thoughts on this. TIA.

Is anyone familiar with filial responsibility laws? I have major doubts that my in-laws have enough saved for retirement / it seems they are planning to rely on SS despite currently living a pretty lavish lifestyle (brand new house, luxury cars, routine spa appointments, expensive dinners, etc.).
