I was low on my hours and had my performance review and it was fine. I had made a record of trying to find work and so it really wasn’t my fault (which makes it even more annoying) so they couldn’t really criticize me for that. If you can point to any efforts you are making to increase your hours, that will help. Good luck! We always think reviews will be worse than they actually turn out to be.
I mean virtually all of us? I think as long as you're not watching netflix all day you're probably fine, especially if you've reached out as frequently as possible to remind folks you're open for more work.
I’m hella low. But for example, this past month, my two attorney, one support staff firm billed only 105% of the hours I am expected to bill per month (pre pandemic). Of those hours, I billed 57%. My boss says he’s happy with our pace, and I convert consults to clients. If we need me to do more hours, we just have to generate more business.
I think covid gives a lot of leeway to associates if you have generally had a historically good pattern of performance. I imagine that firms, if they have the funds, are going to compensate you consistent with your person circumstance rather than your one off hourly drop off.
I hit my hours last month, and I’m crushed right now, but I was nervous earlier this year. Spring was busy then June was concerning. I’m hoping lots of things go pencils down the next few weeks. Most of my firm has been slammed oddly enough. Still nervous about reviews and for no good reason other than constantly waiting for the other show to drop after this shitshow of a year.

No performance reviews if you’re not employed. :bigthink:
