What do you guys think about the Public Sector?
Yes. Try cutting out gluten and dairy from your diet. They trigger an immune response.
I have celiac disease and hashimotos. Sucks.
Glad to know I'm not alone. I have hashimoto's, psoriasis, and hidradenitis. Gonna clean up my diet to see if it helps.
I feel better on a high protein, moderate carb moderate fat diet (around 3300 calories a day). I lift about 3-5 days a week with cardio. If I go to low on the carbs my body starts to become tired and my sex drive goes to hell. Have permanent bags under my eyes, so annoying
Glad to hear I am not alone.
Telling people to leave pharma as a last choice is dangerous. Sometimes, there is no choice. Diet and exercise doesn't magically create body processes and hormones that no longer exist due to an auto immune. Yes, a healthy clean diet and good exercise helps, but for several diseases, there is no choice but medication. Listen to your doctor and do your own research before rejecting medication.
Yep. Have been since 18. It sucks to look healthy but feel like crap. No one outside my immediately family gets it, certainly not those at work.
I have hashimotos as well. You aren't alone. Unfortunately the stigma around invisible diseases is high, both physical and mental. I do feel best on a high protein, low carb, no gluten diet and when I can work out regularly. Unfortunately, busy season isn't really conducive for that and I get run down really quickly. Hard to explain to managers and staff why you constantly don't feel good, but physically look fine.
I have psoriatic arthritis. I give myself an immunosuppressant shot every two weeks. The arthritis is in my feet. I can't walk without the shots.
Yep. First got symptoms during busy season 6 years ago. Sjogrens. Switched into advisory and stopped traveling. Doing much better now, but have to manage stress since that triggers it for me.
Mine are minor enough that my doctor recommended diet changes. They're just really hard to implement with a full time job, being a mom, getting my MBA at night, and dealing with depression and anxiety. I usually go for the fastest easiest food options which are usually full of crap.
Celiac. Can't express how shocked I was that busy season pizza "party" had GF for a few of us. A couple of times it was good, one time I got sick. Now I avoid but still appreciate the gesture.
NYC metro - I don't know how long they have been doing it - a few w/ celiac here. If you tell the person responsible for ordering they might try to accommodate you. Not with gf bagels in Friday but any effort is better than what I had at my old firm.
Yes! I have psoriasis and shocker - my first symptoms started right when I started working in PA. It also gets worse during busy season :(
Yup - Not one but two. I almost want to let HR know of my condition , so far I am managing to WFH on days I feel extremely sick.
I just can't balance my hormones...health issues are the worst
Clean diet helps a lot. Exercise. Acupuncture.
Yup! Since I was 15. Doesn't get any better that's for sure
Aggressive, healthier diet choices as well as exercise can suppress a lot of the issues with auto immune diseases, at least that's helped me. I'd leave pharma as a last choice.
EY5 which office? My office have pizza every Saturday for lunch . I didn't see any GF option :( even salads sometimes they put croutons or eggs already.
