Anyone else dealing with parents that have mental health problems? My mother suffers from episodes of psychosis which last about a month and then she calms down for a while but it's been an annual thing for the last 3 years. I'm just struggling to focus at work in the middle of busy season. All stories, perspectives, and advice are welcome.

I’m sorry to hear that, and my prayers are with you. What I will say is that I have mental struggles that sometimes take a toll on my family. I’ve always felt love and understanding even on my worst days. So my advice is that when someone is struggling mentally, the best thing for everyone is love and understanding.

Thank you so much for your prayers they mean the world to me.

I think my mother has borderline personality disorder and some days are just horrible for my mental health and others are okay. I don’t really have any advice except that I hope you know you aren’t alone. There are lot of children of parents with mental illness and I don’t think it’s talked about much at all. I realize that there’s nothing I can do to change the situation and that it’s okay to prioritize my mental health

I can imagine. It’s definitely not easy. Wishing you the best

I do. My mom tried to kill herself late last year; she’s bipolar and also a toxic narcissist. It’s been a nightmare trying to balance her drama and work. My advice is to seek therapy (regularly) to help, and make sure you are building in time for your self care. Personally I came to realize that I needed space from my mom to heal and focus on my own life, but not everyone has to take that rout. You need to do what is right by YOU, and I know that is much easier said than done. Sending your strength and warm thoughts, I feel you on this struggle!

It seems Campaign article on parental leave has made many rethink their attitude on the subject. Shame on you for only changing when you feared for yr reputation. And not when employees demanded it.

Hey mommas - My baby is 14 weeks old and I haven't gotten my period back yet. I'm worried I'm pregnant again. When did you get your period back? For context, I'm breastfeeding but not exclusively (I am pumping and nursing as much as I can though). I've been on the pill since 6 weeks and my husband used condoms for the first few weeks once we started again. Surprisingly, I can't find anything online that's helpful. Any sense of a timeframe would be tremendously anxiety-reducing!

12 weeks today. I was hoping I would be able to get DNA genetic testing today but my insurance still hasn’t approved the testing. I have up until Friday to see if it’s approved if not I can get another test but it’s a 90% detection rate ($300). The other test is 97% and out of pocket it’s about $3K. How would you guys proceed?... Just take the $300 test if the other isn’t approved in time?

A friend opened up to me about her extra marital interest/dilemma surrounding that interest. She realizes her pattern due to some underlying issue she needs to resolve and is seeing a therapist, yet whenever we talk she goes into details related to this guy and about her dilemma. I have listened to her for 3 months and weighed in where I could, and I care about HER and her mental health. But if ask about her mental health she goes into stories about this dude. How do I establish my boundary? 🙏🏼
