Nope. Hoping that I can finally get a sub after all this. Been waiting for a long time and have the cash.

Now seems like as good of a time as any to remind everyone that luxury goods like watches or jewelry or clothes should really only be purchased if you can afford it. For me, this means that I have the cash to pay for it twice over without impacting my emergency fund or other long-term savings. If you’re in that position and have been waiting for an opportunity to buy at MSRP, then you’re in a good spot. People who can’t/couldn’t afford it are going to be passing on allocations from ADs or selling their watches at a loss.

I’m on a cop freeze 🥶

Same. Total freeze of anything watch related rn.

Buy and hold. Consider it an non-correlated investment and great way to diversify against any equity exposure.

I was fired today. What do I do next? I’m a third year associate at a “boutique” firm. Although I knew my performance wasn’t good and I was on thin ice, I was never given any formal warning, so I was caught off guard when they called me and just fired me, effective immediately. I was locked out of the email and computer system before the call was over, and I’m already off the website. I was so caught off guard I hardly remember the conversation (cont)

How do you get past the “guilt” of leaving a company full of people who you like and respect? Currently on a project where I really cannot be replaced this last minute & have the project end successfully. My managers have also repeatedly checked in on me and made it very clear that they want to keep me / are doing everything they can to help me grow at the company. Still, I am not passionate about the work at ALL and want to leave. Just can’t make myself start looking because I feel so guilty.

Is it just me, or is the big 4 sales culture low energy? I get the RFP process is painful, having done it in other industries myself, but the way I've seen most people sell in these firms seems mediocre for the amount of support that gets thrown at these opportunities. Maybe it's the ex-finance consultant in me, but the approaches I've seen in my 5 year tenure so far have me thinking this isn't catering to my strengths and won't be the best move to stick it out to SM/PPMD.
