I am gonna miss a long standing Opening Day tradition due to a vacation. So I'll do it here, Baseball was invented by dumbing down cricket for players and fans.

Do you think we will be able travel by Christmas for a vacation?

I joined EPAM Systems on 25th April and have given four Project interviews in which I have failed three and fourth interview's verdict is yet to come. I feel but tensed and wonder how this is going to affect my career. Anyone gone through this process? I am currently on bench and learning new skills but I feel like everything is going so slowly.

Where are some cool vacation destinations to hit up this summer? I'm not sure Europe will be open to Americans yet, and we went to Cancun a couple years ago. Any suggestions would be nice :) planning on going for a week or two around 4th of July.

Anybody else's parents see you working from home and think you're on vacation? We've been having my mom and MIL help out with the kids and every time I go downstairs for something real quick I get cornered about God knows what.

I've always been curious, what happens to your PTO balance when you're admitted to the partnership as an internal promote? I understand partners don't have a formal PTO allotment. Does it get written off or paid out or something else? Thanks!

I badly need a holiday, but team is quite understaffed and loaded with work. Not sure how to escape this

So…..my director has been in the position for a little over a year. We’ve been working our tails off and last quarter were informed of no bonuses. I understand that business is down and need to save money. The straw for us was a company holiday party. They completely forgot to have one and now taking us to a bar for drinks and appetizers. Someone asked if that includes a dinner and they said no. The optics is just so bad. Any advice? Really rethinking my current situation and need to reevaluate.

Im really struggling. Every day I'm on the verge of a complete mental breakdown. I'm always working, yet I'm always behind on hours. I feel like I'm digging deeper and deeper in the hole with no end in sight. I know firm life is not for me, but I need the money and don't want a gap in my resume. Why do some internships require that I enroll in classes in the Fall? An internship is often the final requirement to graduate, at least it was for my undergrad. This also excludes every accelerated graduate program student from securing those positions. Why can’t companies hire their interns at the end of the summer?

Anybody who has felt maxed out in recruitment? What do you do? Do you try other industries first but stay in recruitment or do you try to change positions with more diversity of tasks? I now feel that everything I do is the same old, and although they say I am doing a good job, it is also a constant stress daily for applicants not showing up, failing pre-employment requirements, etc and I wonder if this is also present in other areas of HR.

I struggle quantifying my achievements in my resume since I’m a very soft skills focused team member in Business Operations. Any resources that helped you? I can see obvious quantitative achievements for other teams (e.g. wrote winning $X proposal, wrote X requirements, coded X components) but my team is focused on client relationship management.
