I am in need of advice. I've spent the last few years working on the foundations for a career in privacy and would like to keep doing so. But not in practice due to a prior suspension, character limits limit explanation, and I don't want that life. I applied for my dream job for my first major career goal and was told not just no but never. Never would I be allowed to work in my company's legal department.

Is this what I should expect? Nevers? Just give up and regroup?

Context: Married with first baby on the way. Plan is for my spouse to stay home with our (future) kids for next few years. My income is $250-300K and keeping it that way for a while as I’ve moved off partner track for at least 2-3 years as we start our family.

$120K in retirement accounts, $70K in cash, $50K in home equity, and $6K in HSA

Beyond mortgage, only debt is a $25K private loan that we can pay back any time in next 5 yrs. and isn’t accruing interest.

Sometimes I subcontract other freelancers, and I have a request - invoice for your work promptly. If it’s more than 30 days since the work was accepted, that’s just sloppy and rude.

Hi Moms, just had baby #2 and we want to upgrade our family car from Toyota Rav4 to a 3-row luxury SUV that's nice looking inside and outside, reliable and has decent cargo space too. Hello! I was offered a position at the middle of the posted salary range. I exceed every one of the requirements and all but one of the preferred qualifications. (I will have my Supervision designation in a few months.) Should I negotiate a higher salary now or when I obtain my new license? Would it be appropriate to accept the current salary under the terms that I receive an increase once I get that increased licensure status? Thank you!

Can somebody explain to me how the system works between payer (insurance) and therapists? I’m currently looking for a therapist with a specific focus due to a traumatic event and am only finding counselors that do not work with insurance and charge average $ 150/hour. I realize fair payment is important but don’t understand how people can afford to do it out of pocket as “regular mortals”...
