Nope, life is great and this job rocks.
OP, speak to your manager and try going slow, don't worry about rating and bonus. Health comes first. If possible speak to ple and find a network you are more comfortable. Looks like you are working with a bad bad manager
Uhh... Leave? That's not healthy
Does anybody on here have anything positive to say about D? About to scratch from my list of places I'll ever consider working no matter how bad things get elsewhere...
I feel that this is consulting and it's the same at all consulting firms. It's also in our DNA for those of us that stay in this life
God this post is depressing af. I've been there @OP so I feel your pain. In the past I've lost a significant amount of weight in only a few weeks from stress and not sleeping due to work stress. And looking back a lot of that stress and pressure could have been avoided if my project was better managed by the leaders on it. Keep your chin up and remember your worth and value as a person is not tied to your occupation.
Get an antidepressant. It's done wonders for me since I stress eat and don't sleep when I am stressed out. I'm back to normal weight and sleep 6-7 hrs a night, also can focus more.
Yes. Chest pains more recently. In the past I would puke in the shower in he morning. It feels like everyone is constantly disappointed in me no matter how many hours I work, they pile more. Acn1 I'm sure pressures are high everywhere, but I would especially not come here.
I thought I'd read more encouraging responses like I've seen in the paste. Hang in there OP, try daily exercise and a healthy diet. And remember to BREATHE! Happens to the best of us!
The culture is entirely dependent on network and project.
Check your BP just in case...those levels of stress can be dangerous. And find a new job, I've only met a handful of people at Deloitte that could handle the stress there (and they were in federal). No amount of money is worth sacrificing your health.
Just learn that deadlines are almost always bullshit, and if you fail to meet expectations, lives will not be lost
DUDE - TAKE PTO. You could seriously be setting yourself up for a heart attack.
Thanks D1.. Sorry OP.. Definitely not that bad over here at ACN but obviously it's cyclical and we're probably next in line for the D/PwC issues
Yea, big d recruiter has been hounding me lately, keep telling her that I don't to be part of that toxic culture
Take care of your health. Go see a physician and see if an EKG might be in order
D3 - totally agree. And OP - it really isn't for everyone (no offense intended) so if you're being that unhealthy about it and can't find the motivation to stay in the firm (without so much emotional distraught, obviously) I'd really suggest looking elsewhere.
I'm applying external OP. It went away when I was working on a good topic and/or with good people. But the stress, depression, and anxiety are back with vengeance when neither of those are met, especially the latter with just terrible managers out there. I think if I can control one of those variables I'll be in a better place.
Try yoga or mediation.
There's a reason most of us are alcoholics! (Typed while sitting with my laptop at the hotel bar alone)
