Anyone else getting hit up aggressively by Selby Jennings recruiters? I am interested in transitioning to finance but is it worth interacting with SJ recruiters (is there an advantage to working with them)?I’m interested to see what kind of roles people have interviewed for through them
I am looking for recruitment companies that can help you land a job in the UK.
I came to london to get a master degree in tech, I've got it on Sep from a reputable university, I have been using LinkedIn and Indeed for some time, done a few 1st and 2nd stage interviews and then got ghosted or rejected, even applied for internships programs and entry levels jobs without luck,I have 10 years worth of experience in networking with few years in business development from oversees.

Hi guys, I would like to know if coding ( algo/ds) will be asked in interviews or written tests for devops role?
Also, it would be great if someone would let me know the selection process in general
I had an interview last Tuesday at a Law firm that I reallllyyy like, this was the second interview with 2 partners. In my opinion, the interview went well. I answered their questions and towards the tail end of the interview, it was very conversational. But I also understand that it ultimately matters how they think the interview went. I want to follow up about the next steps, and want to know A: is it advisable? B: what should I say without coming off annoying? C: is it too early to reach out?
What transaction related questions should I be expecting as a second year lateral? How do you talk about your work experience effectively in a lateral interview (beyond listing the tasks you had to do)? This will be for an ECM role. Any and all other lateral interview tips appreciated!

When applying for U.S. jobs (as Canadian), do you check the box that says "Sponsorship required" (TN visa)?
I'm finding many companies telling me no due to needing Visa sponsorship, which in reality isnt really the case since we just need a job offer letter and apply.
What do you fishes think?
I’m in the process of applying for new jobs and I’m a bit confused as to what to expect for a salary. I work in architecture and am considèrent a recent grad (0-3 years of exp.) but for the past year I have been working as a project manager but not getting project manager pay because I technically don’t have the years of experience for the title.
As I’m applying for new jobs I’m struggling to reconcile the difference between my experience and years post grad.
Anyone here from RPA domain who can refer me directly to their manager/HR?
I see a lot of openings on Linkedin but after applying the status of those applications never proceeds from 'Under Review'.
If someone can directly refer in their project, it will help.

INDUSTRY VS CONSULTING COMPARISON THREAD
Joining Industry has been pretty interesting. I’d love to hear about the little nuances you’ve noticed after making the switch.
I’ll go first:
- The concept of a “boss” is very real. This person is largely responsible for your career, knows your salary, and has influence in things like internal transfers
- The idea of working FOR your boss is also new
- No time sheets or utilization
- Decks and presentation skills are way less polished

Does anyone know if you could file a non-automatic and an automatic change on the same 3115? I have a situation where a non-automatic change needs to be filed to move items from building to 5 and 15 year property as a result of a cost seg. Also want to do the automatic change from 40 to 30 years ADS for Residential Real Property under 163j. Missed the deadline to file the non-automatic in 2020 and doesn’t make sense to do the 40 to 30 change first.
Tax or audit and why? For some reason I hear ppl crying about hating audit and not so much about tax - why is that?
I took spontaneous PTO (4 days but really 3 days as I worked a bit today) (also, I was highly encouraged by my mentor at the firm to take PTO this week before busy season hits next week.) I came back and got scolded for not letting my reviewer know (a partner btw). I was planning to work on the engagement next week. I feel awful and cried after reading the partner’s email. I’m still uneasy. Yes, I made a mistake but the email just made me feel awful. The worst part is that (Cont.)
We will know the pandemic is over when KPMG tax announces that we’re going 3 days in the office and then finds a way to give only 1-2% higher raises than 2019. If KPMG somehome keeps up with the competition or leads in any way - we’ll know the world is still in chaos.
After working 5+ years and letting life happen, I ended up back with a staff title (no career/group change). Everyone said I was doing well throughout my career. But most of peers are now managers, senior managers, directors, controllers, etc. I really don’t want to compare, but how do I deal with this so it doesn’t bother me? Has anyone else been in this situation? I feel partly ashamed because all of the work I put in didn’t get me very far in my career.

This is a pretty common feeling. You are in a field where most people were top students, so it can feel very intimidating. There is also a steep learning curve. Hang in there, after a year or two you will feel more confident .
Have been in this profession for 5 years now and still feels the same
