I got a verbal offer from ACN two weeks ago, and the recruiter told me I could expect a written offer in a few days. I haven’t receive it by now…followed up with the recruiter today, and she told me hopefully I will get it over the weekend or by Monday. Is this normal? Should I be worried? The recruiter told me they really wanted me and the team has a lot of projects lining up and I really like the team..Accenture

Covid 19 isolated us. We cannot touch each other, look into each other's eyes. The recommended distance is not characteristic of our culture. We are very close to each other, we touch, we invite each other to visit, we shake hands. You can’t do all this now - and this is our cultural code. And these cultural codes are being taboo now. It is very difficult, because it is instinctive ... Isolation is terrible even wild. Loss of contact and sensitivity to another person. This can challenge any mentally strong person. I have convinced myself whatever is going is for a while and I am ready for a long fight. There is one characteristic that I think defines Homo Sapiens is that we are incredibly adaptable species and keep going.

Edelman1 - you have nailed it! That is exactly what makes it worse. We know it is virtual reality

I am. Going outside for a daily walk in my neighborhood is making a huge difference in my mental health. Other than that, I’m indoors, staying at home 24/7. Fresh air and exercise is still okay, take advantage of it

@BCG1 Obviously use your best judgement and keep a wide physical distance between others. I’m in LA, so not exactly a small town, but understand that it’s quite different in NY.

Beat me to it.
No but there’s a “depression/anxiety talk” bowl if you need help navigating.

Yep looking into that!

Sure. I’ve had a few moments where I’ve had to stop and gather myself. A few tears as this starts to effect not just fellow humans. But people I know. People I love. I’m also taking sobering steps to prepare myself and family as this may get unimaginably worse. Better safe than sorry. Stay strong. There is no alternative.

Thank you! Thinking positive thoughts for you and your family as well!
This too shall pass.
We’ve endured through worse before and have come out stronger before. All things must be put to the test before their true value is known. We, as a whole planet of people, are being put to that test.

@SC2 - I agree I don’t think our country has seen something like this since WW2. It’s most definitely trying times.

OP, work on the things you CAN control: workout, connect with loved ones, meditate, eat healthy, hydrate, talk with a therapist (I see mine virtually 1x/week), be open about your fears with trusted coworkers. You can do this.

Yeah I think I’m realizing I need to be more open. I’m one of those that’s always hid my feelings and thoughts and now I need to talk about them otherwise I’ll just drive myself nuts. Thank you!
YES OMFG
The virus scared combined with fear of hate crimes. As an Asian woman, I don't go out for my essential shopping without my (not Asian) partner because im so scared someone is gonna attack me inside my local safeway. Partner has taken up all the non groceries errands. Also sick of the "this is all China's fault" narrative

@A1 I’m sorry you’re going through that. Not cool with the hatred towards Asian Americans right now. Thinking positive thoughts for you!

I start to find my inner peace. Days seem neither long or short. Just normal.

I cried for few hours, then got over it. It's painful that you have to carry your anxiety and depression, but you have to keep moving forward. I'm still carrying my anxiety and depression, but I can't keep wallowing in them.

Thinking positive thoughts for you !
Nope. Just need to adjust your lifestyle
