For me, it turned out to be stress and rumination related.
I took a trip recently and slept like a goddamn baby, was drifting off at sensible hours of the night and sleeping right through, after months of on/off insomnia. I have maintained said baby sleep since getting home, and have tried to reinforce it by maintaining consistent bed time, working out, mixing up my work out, and relaxing with good podcasts, cooking and friends. Feeling so much more awake during the day.
Also, probably wouldn’t hurt you checking in with the doctor. Good to rule out any medical issues.
Rumination related huh? I’ve had it for years. Stress. The only solution the docs had was belly breathing.
Make sure you are getting the nutrition you need. Sometimes with our travel and eating habits we aren't getting the vitamins and minerals we need to sustain energy properly.
1) get a full physical and blood work
2) invest 60 mins with a therapist
3) be willing to try suggestions coming out of #1 and #2
Had same experience as BCG1, couple of PTOs combined with more exercise and taking a look at eating habits change it. Socializing also does wonders.
Get a complete check up done first. In my case it turned out to be an iron deficiency.
Yes, for years. Turned out to be thyroid, exacerbated by expedient nutrition and little exercise. My doctor gave me a new POV - we are asking our brains and bodies to do elite athlete work with elite athlete hours. That doesn’t work on college freshman nutrition/fitness routines. I drastically changed my eating/exercise routines and made it a priority. That helped get the thyroid sorted. A world of difference. Meds alone didn’t fix it
Low energy all the time even after sleeping, trouble concentrating, weight gain that wouldn’t come off no matter what, dry skin/nails.
This has been my biggest complaint for going on 10 years. The VA chalks it up to depression but honestly I’d be so much happier if I weren’t always feeling exhausted.
