Anyone else find themselves having serious introspection about their career lately? I suppose I’ve always had it, but the more senior I become I feel like not only am I becoming more introverted but I’m also over the “account stuff”. Like why should I have to solve a staffing problem when new biz undersold the business? Why am I being brought on to help fix things on a project when agency leaders can’t even find the time to align internally? I’m exhausted and just want to help make great work.

Give me some hard questions/ demands. I’m being headhunted to a job that on the outside seems very tough/ impossible client. Tell me some hard arse things to ask for, some thoughts belie in the commen

Is it bad to dress better than your boss at a client site? Ex) I come in a suit and he comes in a polos and khakis.

I have an offer from Morgan Stanley for 36 lpa.. 8 years, Java backend developer.. I am also about to have a managerial round with Mercedez Benz and Zscaler.. Morgan Stanley they said I initially will have to work on existing applications and later move on to microservices project.. Both Benz and Zscaler are working on good tech stack already.. Are any of these worth considering if they match what Morgan Stanley is offering?

Have never been able to pay attention when stressed. On current engagement, everything (internal & client) involves lots of people and moving parts and I can't think or be productive. I made it past the first round before we became their client but now I’ve been inform that if I want to continue with the interviewing process, I’ll need to disclose to my company that I initiated it and was not recruited. Would you continue, why/not? What do I need to consider when speaking with my employer?

I’m an experienced director that has worked mainly on commercials and short form original and branded content. I am starting to get a lot more work requests from major networks to direct shows similarly to Chef’s Table and Ugly Delicious.

They usually want a project rate and I am struggling to determine what this would be. My commercial rate is USD$1,500 per day but I think that is going to be out of their budget if the project takes 2-3 months.

Branded content feels like an in between of agency and in-house.

I’m working with my leadership to create a list of recommendations to support working parents as well as guidelines for managers of working parents.
1.) moms - What would you like leadership to implemented at your company to help reduce your stress and improve your efficiency and effectiveness as work? 2.) What guidelines would you like manager to have?
Examples: Flexible hours, ability to block up to 2 hours a day, empathy consultations with other coworkers, funding for childcare, etc.

Have an urgent scripting deadline for tomorrow & feeling a little dejected from being sidelined for being outspoken/ not falling in line in a fairly toxic workplace —it’s been on for months & I might not last long + plus have a writing career outside.

Received a job offer yesterday with a HUGE pay raise but the company’s PTO policy is less than desirable. With my current start date I’d only be getting 6 vacation days for the rest of the year.

My direct report is absolutely imploding, and I don’t know what to do. This is her first job out of college and she doesn’t ask questions, she doesn’t tell me when she has too much on her plate - she just lets deadlines quietly slide and hopes nobody notices.
