Ghosting isn’t okay. She should be giving you updates. Additional context for hiring at DoorDash based on observations-
1) Could be that she’s not the recruiter for the second role. Has your application been transferred over to the second role yet? You should get an automated email when it happens.
2) Some marketing roles are getting shifted internally at the moment. This is likely why the role has been in flux.
3) We’re in a company slowdown at the moment and most folks are OOO. Recruiting will likely pick up in January.
4) There are multiple recruiters and the one I worked with was great. She’s mindful of everyone’s time and great at giving updates.
I have no idea if it’s been transferred, the recruiter has disappeared and doesn’t reply to emails. There’s no OOO email notification. And not a single update. It’s like she came in, said “I think you’d be better at this other role, can I submit you?” (I replied yes) and then nothing. I emailed for a follow up a week ago. Nothing. This experience, sadly, reflects on both the recruiter and the brand. I emailed her today asking to be withdrawn from consideration.
Salesforce did the same to me.
Ghosting is the norm now.
