I have 18 years of experience broken down as 6 years development in Microsoft products I. E. .Net, 12 years as a Sr. Business Systems Analyst in Detroit multinational company. My Tc is 120k + 15k bonus. When I read about people's post in this app I feel like I am under paid. Am I wrong to think this way? Do companies pay more in or near Detroit Michigan region?
If comp and role desirability are the same would you take a big pharma offer or Deloitte Consulting LS offer? ~4 yrs of b4 advisory experience is it too soon for industry ?
I received an offer for 30k more than I’m making now at Deloitte for Cyber Risk.. what’s the main reason Advisory is a bad choice? Is a Senior Consultant role in this practice a bad place to be from a career growth perspective? I don’t understand the practice structure and am unsure if I’m being misled. I also don’t want to be doing only security assessments, if that’s what the work is like. 😅
I think I'm personally financing the jobs of at least a couple of employees at my local Starbucks. Oh well, it gets me through the day.
What are the benefits of working at a small law firm (about 10 attorneys) as opposed to a midsize firm. What is the difference in the amount of work/ billable hours, benefits (health insurance and PTO), opening doors for future career opportunities, etc. I have an interview at a small law firm, which is not what I ideally wanted, but I am considering it because of the COVID uncertainties. I appreciate any kind of guidance.
Not sure if my question will make sense but I am really curious. When it comes to salaries in the consulting world, do we end up reaching a peak in our base? And then must rely on bonuses for increases in total payout? I am curious because it seems like there are only about 5-8 official career ladder steps. I’m also curious to understand what salary trajectories are over time especially for people who have started in consulting and have basically never left this career path for 10-20 years.
I work at a small startup and a bunch of colleagues (around 30% of the company) got laid off today. I have a bit of survivors guilt. Should I contact these colleagues? Is it inappropriate this soon?..
If I drive to my local office and have to commute to the city here and there, can I expense the transportation costs (train, subway)?
I have a category 1-5 Marriott certificate that I would like to trade for some Marriott or Delta points. Any takers?
Does D give signing bonuses at SM level? Happy with base comp, but wondering if that was a valid way to negotiate
I see FAANG be thrown around so much here but barely see anyone even move to Netflix or Apple. Who do they even hire..?
Who else is shaving their head bald at this time to minimize coronavirus spread? Won’t be client facing for at least a few months, enough time to grow it back!
Whats your go to WFH lunch?
Would you ever ask for a raise in a lockstep firm? I have billed enough hours over target consistently since the start of my career (500-800 hours over every year) that I am well over a year’s worth of target hours ahead. I think there is no chance, but thought I’d ask the question here just in case!
is tc 120-130 plus equity a good offer for 1YOE? trying to decide if i want to go through this interview
Was reading an info article I received about "Reading Progress." I am copying the lead sentence from Monica Burn's June 21, 2021 article for you, but I really want to know if anyone is using this app. "Reading Progress is a new, free app built right into Microsoft Teams." It looks good to me on the surface for ALL teachers and is time efficient! Any thoughts?
I’ve been told by my firm that I need to get a corporate amex card. I’m new to consulting- can I still use my own credit card to get the points and expense that way? If it’s the corporate card can I still get points for it also or does it only go to EYP? Curious to know if a corporate amex is even a good thing or the benefits for it. Thanks!
How’s the design team culture at cossette?
Heard Deloitte will start adjusting salary by city starting next year....will they be adjusting people down if they are currently overpaid (relatively)?
How many candidates are usually left if you’ve made it to the 3rd round of interviews? This is for a tax senior role in industry for context
