Anyone else hate Mother’s Day? I feel like I have to explain why I don’t have kids and I absolutely love my family, but they always include me in Mother’s Day celebrations... they give me cards and gifts celebrating me as an “auntie” or a “cat mom” feels like a consolation prize or something.

Anyone have tips for when and how to make a break from the pacifier? Baby is 8 months and only uses it for sleeping.

I have been offered a position in-house at a $500M-$1B company, mid-sized city LCOL, 10 YOE in private practice. They offered me $120k, w opp for undefined discretionary bonus. No paid parental leave or 401(k) match & only 1 week PTO in first year (but claim they have discretion for more). Is there any way to salvage this? Salary guides suggest TC should be around $200-215k. I want to get my foot in the door but this seems crazy low.

Have a two year old and another one on the way (due in September). Getting very anxious about the transition from one kid to two and also making my partner comfortable with the thought of spending way more time with my toddler in the future than before. Any specific things / strategies that have worked for you? For example, how do you handle bedtime, playtime, early mornings, weekends? How to set up childcare responsibilities between us so that when I come out of mat leave it's not all on me?

Has anyone found themselves completely lacking emotional resilience since returning to work? I returned 5 months ago and baby is a year old, so this isn’t PPD. I’m not remotely depressed either, but..

Thinking about adding my child as an additional cardholder on Amex or other credit cards to build up their credit. I don't know if they're ready to actually have the card in their possession, but idea would be to establish early credit history.

I just found this tax info out which only hurts unmarried individuals and benefits married. I wanted to sell my home due to equity in it at todays listing prices and apparently if a single individual, any home that sells more than 200k over your original purchase price you have to pay a huge capital gains tax… now,if your married they give you a 400k differential and anything over that you pay capital gains. Ex. Unclear of why this tax law hasn’t been updated? Wow! It’s an extremely biased

When do you have conversation about not wanting kids in the future when start dating someone new? Late twenties F dating late twenties M, not exclusive yet. I think I am afraid to bring it up to learn that they want kids in the future and I will have to end it after that. I don’t want to date just to date and waste my time. I have been running into this challenge for almost 2 years now that I am unable to get far anywhere with my date when I present my dealbreaker i.e. not wanting kids.

I've noticed that the people I know who really want kids even though they are single/don't have a SO all came from broken families (divorced parents or dad left). Have any of you noticed the same trend?
