I have a buy side deal that was supposed to close 3 years ago but more issues keep popping up…

This sounds like a nightmare

Got one that was supposed to close last year, and another that won’t close until the end of this year.

like

Yes. Also have one that I hope dies asap.

funny

I had one that went on for over two years. Actively. 68 million dollars and no shortage of hours worked.

Yessss. The one we closed at the end of January 2021 started due diligence in November 2019. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Loved those pandemic babies, that really slowed things down but increases the clients’ demands

Hello Bengaluru people,

I have same CTC offers from pune as well as from Bengaluru.
Bengaluru company job profile seems more better and Pune company job profile seems less better.

I'm worried about food in Bengaluru that will I get the good North Indian food daily. I don't like rice and south Indian food. I mostly eat chapati and all spicy north Indian thing.

Pune Seems better in terms of food and money. Should I come to Bangalore or not that's the point.

To be clear, this isn't about the money. It's about the hassle. I'd just rather pay an upfront gratuity fee that covers all of tips for the entire stay.

Curious to know people’s planning systems. I’m a paper planner at heart, but in this practice, there’s so many tasks and sub tasks for each client matter and each task may be in various points of completion (to do, waiting on, in process, etc.). I’ve toyed with excel sheets, word docs, paper planning, Trello, Notion, etc. and nothing seems to ‘stick.’ Thank you!

I am a pre-law student (undergrad senior) who will apply to law school very soon. As someone who is interested in international corporate law, I am stuck between 2 educational paths:

1) Obtain my JD here in the US
or
2) Obtain law degree in the UK (LLB). Come back to the US for my LLM in international law. Then take the NY bar exam. This option is cheaper for me at the end of the day.

My concern is the job opportunities. I keep hearing that the LLM is not respected as much as the JD. 1/2

If associates at my firm are 150-200k range and junior partners at my firm are in the 250k range (mid law, less hours 1800, lower rates 250-650), how much do you think the 45 or so equity partners make a year? We have about 150 lawyers 80 ish million top line in revenue in 2021. I just want to know what the prize for sticking around here a decade to make equity would be. I am afraid to ask but I think I heard someone say 300k-1m dollars once a couple years ago. Thanks all!

Best resources for a very green corporate transactions junior associate to get up to speed?

I just made a switch from a boutique litigation firm to a mid-sized corporate transactions practice. It’s been about 3 months, and I’m simply not meeting the partner’s (understandably high) standards. I love the work, and want to keep doing this, but need to start delivering better work product faster, I just don’t know what I don’t know.

When saving docs to the system, I notice some firms consistently put the project name first and title second, e.g., Project Mountain - Escrow Agreement. I don’t know why, but it bothers me not having the document title first. If for instance my browser/window is too small, all you see is Project Mountain—not Escrow Agreement. Also feel like it’s easier if you were to sort alphabetically. So unimportant, but is there a reason for project name first?

Hi, can anyone recommend a contract drafting course for a non attorney? I'm looking to build my skills in this area. Thank you
