Low key that’s life in general. All you can do is grow as a person and apply what you’ve learned to make the best out of everything moving forward. Sounds like a cop out, but all you can do is learn from it and do better next time.
Look back to only encourage you to make better decisions in the future but don’t wish to go back. Things happen for a reason and it’s good you’re taking it as learning experiences. It’s only going to go up from here. Think positive
I will say just one thing - A lot of people don't have what you have.
Quit whining and relax, life will be k
over before you know it
Including me. I don't have what you have. i have tried every trick in the book, but something just doesn't click.
Chill out !
Hey OP , I hear you. Pls know that this kind of experience is normal especially in today’s world. It can sometimes impact how you feel. I think you should be proud that you survived all the craziness and this will only make you stronger. No reason for shame but I know why and how someone can start feeling like that. A lot of the top firms aim to treat great performers in a way that they become insecure overachievers. The firms do that because it works for them.
This is common. I was not given a return offer from two companies I was at and told I knew nothing about finance despite being a finance major. Now i say f it and I’ll just see where life guides me. There is more to life than defining yourself to a career.
What’s there to be shameful about? This doesn’t sound like stuff in your control.
You ever work in retail or any other desk job? Think law/consulting/accounting/working retail/marketing/etc., don’t have toxic work environments, poor managers, etc.?
Your immaturity fine that’s on you but sounds like just life and growing and macro risk.
Can’t just say shits bettter if you idk became a marketing person or something, then you’d say wow for my shitty toxic environment I may as well done IB/PE/HF/etc., and been laid enough to deal with this shit
Sounds like you need a perspective adjustment.
Not exactly 1:1 translation but often when I think about how much something sucks I remind myself of certain parts in the book mans search for meaning. If you haven’t read stuff like this I highly recommend it.
Stop focusing on what you perceive as narrowing your options and focus on all the possibilities. The world is truly your oyster.
Man this just hit me hard. You’re not alone buddy. Gotta keep moving forward.
You give me hope lol
Why do you say that?
Thanks. Your replies made me feel much better.
