My husband works in manufacturing. He gets to clock in and clock out, works with machines instead of people, and deals with laborious work and sometimes extreme climates. He can’t figure out why I am so exhausted after working inside all day.
I deal with stressful situations, decision fatigue, and can’t turn off teacher brain. Most days I need a nap or some time to decompress. It isn’t easy to transition back into home mode.
The clock in and clock out part ⏰ sounds wonderful.
Well they don’t need to understand when you got us on Fishbowl 😂
Ha! If this isn't true. Joining this app and chatting with y'all has been a great way for me to find some relief from the daily pressures of the job.
Did I write this and forgot?? 🤣🤣
Same!!
I was thinking the SAME thing!!!!!
I feel like my husband has not a clue what I do all day but he is definitely supportive of how hard it is! He wants me to find a new job at a new school but doesn’t understand that the issues I’m facing are the same issues everyone is facing :/
I’ll sign up to be a stay at home dog mom any time now!
All the last two years my wife has asked me why I don't just quit! She gets it in theory, but it's hard for her to watch me come home miserable/angy/upset/overworked. She would definitely prefer I went into something that made me happy without all the drawbacks.

We are here for you, Mass! Praying that you find peace 💖
My boyfriend and his mom moved in with me this September, she is on hospice, and he quit his job to "take care" of her. I cook breakfast set out pills, come home and make lunch, come home and do dinner and handle her needs(laundry diaper changing, grocery shopping, cleaning everything) Did I say I'm a special education teacher? He has no idea what my day is like emotionally, educational and supportive I need to be with advocacy, and academic creativeness to help students learn. I'm drained some days and still push through not by force but because they who I am, yet she tells me how overwhelmed he is...oh yea, my grandson (8) and grand daughter(2) come down daily for. breakfast and I take granddaughter to daycare 3 days a week and pick her up.grandson attends same school as I teach às it is a 4k-12 school, and I go back and grab him at 515 from boys and girls club t w th. Summer echo starts on the 20th still looking forward to it
Does he have brothers or sisters who can help?
My husband never really did until I put it in terms that related to his job.
My husband knows I can’t handle noise when I come home. Tv can’t be on, radio can’t be on. And do not, I repeat DO NOT ask me any questions for at least an hour! 😆
My husband gets it. He knows I need a little couch time when I get home, and he’s fine if dinner is pancakes or a bowl of cereal. I appreciate that. He does like to go shopping/run errands at night, and I sometimes stay home. He understands that I am on the go the minute I step into school, and I don’t stop until I get home. Sounds like I have it good.
Yes! I don't even bother anymore to be honest lol I just connect with my friends and network of teachers
Yep, felt that.
Fortunately, my wife was an only child raised by her single mom... who happened to be a Middle School teacher for her entire career. So she knew what she was getting into when she married me ;)
