Anyone else have kids in school who are constantly being exposed. I have two and both have had multiple close contacts within the last two weeks. I’m currently on covid leave to monitor the youngest since his classroom shutdown. But my other got exposure notice again today. What are we going to do?

What about inconsistency in who gets quarantined? My daughter tested positive. I wasn’t told to quarantine my other kids. (I did isolate her, though.) My para’s kid tested positive and she was told to quarantine her other kids. It’s like that all over. I don’t get it.

What lucky staff member supervises that?!

We are missing 1/3 of our kids. Covid, exposure, or symptoms? Vacation? We don’t know and it’s a crazy revolving door. How do you teach like this? Kids are complaining all over that they have subs and doing nothing because of subs and half the kids gone!

Which is being destroyed again because of people refusing to wear masks and get vaccinated.

My guess is a lot of kids and teachers are getting exposed, just no notice going out.

I have had 3 kids in the past two weeks suddenly unable to taste their food during snack time. Nothing has been sent to the parents about their children being exposed. 🙄

Our school is modified remote. Students stay in one classroom all day. We wear masks full time. Another teacher has my kids during planning. She doesn't believe in masks. She wears a "mask", basically a lacy piece of fabric. She doesn't enforce masks either. I've brought it to my principal's attention in the past when she wouldn't wear a mask, but now she has a "mask", technically. My anxiety is high. I don't even want my kids to go to her, but I need a break. How do I handle this?

Dry erase magnetic board We might be virtual and I would like to get an affordable, large enough dry erase board. Has any one used the panel from Home Depot? Has any one used dry erase paint? Stick on a wall with sticky back? Is there a place that's affordable? One that will deliver undamaged goods? I think I need to create a classroom in my house. I know most is on the computer if we are virtual. Just in case. Thanks

Would anyone like to give shout outs to the teaching position that looks impossible to you? I’d love to spread some positivity and praise. I’ll go first! Hats off to anyone working in a middle school or junior high! I don’t know how you keep your sanity or your classroom managed when child meets hormones for the first time. I bow to your greatness, your saintly patience, and your ability to roll with the punches. Well done!

Is anyone doing in person in the morning and virtual in the afternoon? How are you scheduling your day? I am a mod/severe teacher and we will be bringing students back to the classroom for 3 hours a day. We will be continuing virtual learning in the afternoons. I cannot figure out how to schedule the day!!

Well, our district found a COVID loophole and are exploiting it. They get to determine whether or not we are considered a “close contact” or not with a positive student. And because they told us to “never be within 6’ of a student for 15 minutes or longer” (in a tiny classroom with 28 JH students), they’re justifying that if we test positive “despite their efforts”, it’s on us, not the district, so they won’t cover any medical costs or give us the Covid days off. Talk about feeling expendable.

I apologize in advance for the language but…some of these educators are just assholes. Why they’re allowed to be in the classroom w kids is beyond me. Is it just me?
