EY verbal offer rescinded:( Has this happened to anyone else? “We have had a change in our demand for our product team and we are having to reassess our hiring. I am placing your name on our list to follow up with once we have a better grasp on the next month or two’s availability and needs, this normally doesn’t happen once we get rolling in a hiring process however Q1 had had some changes this fiscal year”

Yeah I was just thinking about this the other day.
I used to think it was because I was a bigger guy from a physically intimidating stance that warranted condescension. I also thought it was because I came from the military. Many in my experience always wanted to presume my mil exp meant I was lesser in relevance to any conversation. Not to mention I must be some knuckle dragger.
Humility goes a long way. People who are hurt want that insecurity put unto others. Focusing on you and not letting work bs affect who you become will carry you farther than sinking to their level.

I've seen my fair share of toxic behavior in the navy so I'm okay without that following me into the corporate world. Part of JJ DID TIE BUCKLE is "tact" and I think about that all the time. It's better to be respected because you handle yourself well than to be feared for having a poor temper.
I definitely agree. I guess my overall point is it would be nice to really say what I’m feeling sometimes. But that wouldn’t get anyone anywhere
Sir this is a Wendy’s
But I agree a few knife hands here and there would go a long way
I lead my team today the same way that I did when I was in the Army; mutual respect achieving a shared objective. Rarely (never, actually) do I encounter a situation in civilian life where the stakes are so high, and the threat is so imminent, that repectful commmunication isn't the best course of action.
That level of function doesn't happen by itself. In my civilian organization, I had to build that culture from the ground up.
Wow we’re the cliche. But it does work 😂
