Anyone else having a hell of a week in HR?? 🤣

I was already so burnt out by my workplace, and now we lost half our team in a matter of weeks (all for different reasons). I spent years going above and beyond and working overtime every week because even when we had a "full" team by the company's opinion, I was doing multiple jobs basically despite not even getting paid well enough for my own, and now I'm back being forced into that. I've been promoted multiple times yet my pay is still way behind where it should be. I also had to continue doing all the stuff I was doing in my first two roles on top of new responsibilities until recently, before losing people. It took 2-3 hires to do what I was doing alone in the same role. Now I'm expected to go back to that again without any additional comp.

I've been naturally an over achiever my whole life due to parental pressure, but I really hope my stupid brain has finally learned its lesson to not put in more than I will likely get out. And yes, I'm trying to leave ASAP because I'm tired of being taken advantage of

I’m sorry you are going through this. It’s a bloodbath out there esp for HR. You’ll find something in no time, the part is taking the first step and putting yourself out there! You got this.

13 Partners leaving PwC to form a new company under Luke Sayers - called 'Sayers' ? Wow, does this mean there's more money to spread around at PwC ?

And to think, they called it Sayers ? Whilst some of these partners are going around calling themselves 'Founding Partners', they not only followed the leader, they couldn't even come up with an inventive name !

Perhaps they should all be called 'Following Partners'.

Any advice on getting your foot in the door in the Big 4 companies or the like, ie: PwC, Deloitte, etc. I feel like I have the perfect experience for some of these posted roles but the online application process is a black hole. I’ve seen my resume ‘in review’ for 6+ months or more. Do people only get interviewed for these roles through networking?

I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I have been in the HR field going on 4 years, I have over 11 years of management experience, I got my PHR last year and I recently graduated with my MBA with a concentration in HR this month. I am ready for a more challenging role. However, there doesn’t seem to be much available at my current company. However, I am going on 5 months pregnant with the expectation of being out in October. I feel like once I mentioned my pregnancy I was in a holding pattern.

I had my PHR back in early 2000, then made a career change to a paramedic (I know, right). I called SHRM and they said I'm eligible to test again even though I only currently have 1.5 yrs of HR.

I purchased the online study guide and it seems that HR has gone in a completely different direction - more operations related than employee relations etc.

Did anyone find this online training to be helpful? I test in July, so any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks - lauren

Cocreation is something I as a customer like very much. Especially when you can give input, discuss and it gets implemented or taken into account. I was wondering: how do you create a Cocreation community that gathers regularly? Do you have multiple groups? How do you manage them al if you’re a small company?

Hello! I have a two part question: 1) is it worth it to obtain an SHRM specialty credential if I don’t have the broader SHRM certification? 2) has anyone gotten the People Analytics or Talent Acquistion credential? If so, how valuable was it from a learning perspective? Do you feel it significantly contributed to your knowledge in either area? Thank you!

SPHR exam- has anyone ever been “randomly selected” for an application audit? This just happened to me and the sheer amount of effort that is going to go into collecting all the documents almost makes me not want to follow through. Since I didn’t finish undergrad, they’re asking for a copy of my high school diploma or transcript and that itself is going to be an absolute nightmare to get hold of. Guess I’m not really looking for a solution here, just venting.

I’m not old BUT when I was younger I thought it was important to have all the alphabets after my name (I.e. Phr, SHRM and all the others). I learning that the younger crowd coming into the market thrives off these identifiers yet they know very little about the real world aspects of the job. I watch leadership roll their eyes at the email footers. I feel like keeping those attached to my name hurts my credibility so I removed them…. I’m I thinking wrong?

Hello HR folks. Overheard a conversation at work and am curious what is the norm.
If an employee goes out on FMLA, obviously the benefits person sends them the STD, FMLA paperwork etc. But is it the maagers responsibility to maintain communication with the person out on leave and to get a timeline on their return or would that be the benefits team? Or maybe the HRBP?
