Anyone else having trouble finding shoes for the wedding?!?

Leaving for a week and a half vacation and just did 33 hours in two days in order to prep my VPs for deal work without me and get ahead on work I know would be asked this week. Lean deal teams provide for a lot of opportunities but absolutely suck when you physically need time off to recoup. Can’t help but feel anxious but also like wtf

Has anyone made the switch from manufacture sales to tech sales? If so, what steps did you take? I have been in sales for about 12 years now. Would love any advice.

What you didn't know about engineering...

I'm an engineer and I love building things but based on what I've seen about Gen Z, I think I'm going to raise my kids in a less modern style. No TV, no internet, at least until a certain age.

Only a few of the engineers I've met have been antisocial, and it seems like such people are represented fairly evenly across different careers. I'm not really sure why that misconception still exists

Is it normal for your director to take the credit for your work? Their are times I receive acknowledgment for my work, but I am finding through conversation my boss is saying “I do this…” when in fact she does not maintain the data/ work. Looking for feedback…

SPHR exam- has anyone ever been “randomly selected” for an application audit? This just happened to me and the sheer amount of effort that is going to go into collecting all the documents almost makes me not want to follow through. Since I didn’t finish undergrad, they’re asking for a copy of my high school diploma or transcript and that itself is going to be an absolute nightmare to get hold of. Guess I’m not really looking for a solution here, just venting.

What do you think about switching tech stacks vs becoming an expert in one stack? I am a backend Java engineer, and have solely used Java since I've started my software engineering career about 2 years ago. I don't know whether I should explore other tech stacks while I'm young, or instead focus on becoming a Java expert, given that I enjoy working in Java.

How realistic is it to land an AD position as a fresh grad (with a doctorates) and a handful of pharma & FDA interships? I'll have over a year of (consistent) work experience at a large pharma company and I have prior leadership/mgt experience in a gov't position prior to changing career paths and pursuing my doctorates. I have a grandparent who is a toxic narcissist. He is my only living grandparent. I will be inviting all aunts and uncles to our wedding. Anyone unsure of what to do for bridesmaids “proposals?” I want them to get excited and feel special but when I see how much money I’d be spending on things like custom totes or mugs I’m like is it really worth it? I’d send cards but most of my bridal party I see pretty regularly/they live nearby so it seems odd to send them something when I live down the street. Help! 😅

Booked a villa for 50-60 guests for our destination wedding in Tuscany. The hotel required us to pre-pay for the rooms and won’t accept direct payments from guests. This means we need to find a way to “charge” each of our guests for the cost. Any recs? Thought of PayPal and Venmo but would prefer being able to create a website that feels more legit / seamless and allows for credit cards if needed. There are many different room types and we’d like to be able to feature them so guests can choose.

Getting married in the Caribbean end of February. Going absolutely nuts with the range of my RSVP emails. Young people “can’t wait, so excited!!!!”, old people “too afraid to travel”. If it were in January I’d prob postpone, but I kinda feel like end of Feb might be ok? And who’s to say if I move it there won’t be another variant.
