I am hiring a paid media manager at Golin to join my team. Ideally someone with 3-4 years experience and wants to work with one of the best clients I’ve actually worked with in my career. We’re social focused and growing fast. I’m a firm believer in work-life balance and building a team that loves creating the best work of our lives. Remote is fine but central/pacific time zone works best for our clients. Ping me for details!

What is a single audit like?
I’d say def learn the business side of things. I find the audit boring but the business side interesting
The business side is the most interesting aspect. Dealing with a wide range of clients every year.
I enjoyed the work but not the pay or the hours. I do audit adjacent work in advisory for better pay and steady hours (never worked more than 45 here). If you're enjoying it, that's all that counts
What type of advisory work?
I don’t mind it, I feel like there is more variety and opportunity to work on different things. I started out in industry and found it it to be way more boring.
Auditing is definitely great with all the potential endless learnings and experience you can get. It’s the pay and the people you work with that ruins it all for me.

At the level you’d jump off to in industry, you’d be exposed to new topics.
Eg management reporting requirements —This often gets into the strategy of what information is needed to drive that strategy, the data flows to create that view
Eg change efforts — there’s a ton of work that goes into changing a robust reporting platform, whether it’s how people, technology or the related interactions change. At larger companies, you’d be driving a much larger scale of value return to a business than on annual engagements
That being said, the above does not make partner compensation — but the WLB is (on average) better. Until lately, the compensation in pre SM roles was better in industry (with similar YOE)—but that may have flipped during return from Covid
I love audit! Really! I’m in banking and the money is good, I love what I do, and wlb is a priority. Always learning, plenty of challenges.
