My father is an accredited investor and invests in private companies. I said I’d give him $50k for one of the investments but technically it’s all in his name. 3x return. Any way to touch that money without double taxation (expecting to pay his highest tax bracket on the returns since shorter than 1 year and then gift tax above $30k)? Thinking about asking him to put it in a separate bank account in his name linked to my credit card - but still likely too much money to burn through.

Continually shocked by those who put their jobs above their families and their life outside of the office. Working for a Manager who’s sole purpose in life seems to be working at the firm and expects/looks down upon those who don’t. I get it- her choice, but does anyone ever have the urge to tell someone that an audit, project, etc, won’t matter when you’re on your death bed?? How do you all stay true to your values when closely working with people who only value work and expect that of you too?

Lately I have changed my thoughts on ADD/ADHD. This conundrum that affects is truly a "Super power" when harnessed effectively there is almost nothing you can't do. Many of the issues and complaints I see are from people that are shaped like clouds trying to fit into a geo metric world. Is an MBA required to get senior leadership roles in Canada? I always find myself wondering if, down the line, I will regret not doing an MBA. However, my peers (with and without MBAs) don’t seem to think MBAs are needed in Canada if you have the right experiences. Would love to hear more opinions on this
