Anyone else in tech sales feel like they are hitting a breaking point of burnout at work? Been in tech sales for 3 years and the stress from work constantly comes home with me making me think I may not be cut out for sales after all, even though I’ve been successful. Just feel this isn’t sustainable for my mental and physical health. Any tips?

Yea. I’ve been in sales and my current position has turned toxic and very micromanagey since we work from home. I’m beyond burned out. Honestly never hated a job more. Taking a dip down in pay (for now) but starting a job that is 90% salary with bonuses making up the rest. Can’t chase commission anymore, especially since my field is a lot of chargebacks. My current company have an overly convuluted bonus structure that just exists to take money away from us. Just am running out the clock now. Actually very at peace.

Perhaps, try reframing your purpose? You are not selling, you are solving problems for someone. If you think of yourself as a protagonist, does it help you feel better?

I’ve been in Sales 25yrs. I can honestly say that 95% of reps/leaders experience this regularly. Focus on what you can control and what you can do with the $$ for you and your family and maybe giving back to a cause you feel strongly about. Sales is a major roller coaster ride with peaks and valleys.

Yeah- just left a major telco after 33 years, not the same company, not solution selling either just a numbers game. Looking at changing industries or doing something completely different because the burnout is real!!
I like the comment from above where they took a 90% salary rather than a commission based kicker. Good Luck All!!

Long story short, I have a bachelors in Public Health/Health Science, and no idea what to do with it. I currently am contracted with a disabilities agency in the vocational services side of things, working for $20/hr with no benefits. I realize this is a very low paying job, but I do not know the extent of the career options with the degree I have. I’d like to ask, what would be the highest paying/most rewarding career options for me?

Is working at Goldman Sachs worth it? I’ve heard there’s no WLB and I’m hesitant on taking an offer. The pay increase is great about 20k more then I’m making but not worth sacrificing my mental health, time, driving distance and schedule if it will be too demanding in the HCM department. I’m also worried because I’m fresh out of school and though I know I have a good background (bachelors) I know I’m not as qualified as others that have worked there. I’m worried they just need people.

Hey Fishes,

Can someone help me to decide which company to join.
YOE: 5 Years, Data Analytics

1.Mastercard - 19.3 LPA(18 fixed + 1.3 variable) (Analyst role: career level: 8) . I feel Senior Analyst should have been my role considering experience.

2.HSBC - 19.8 fixed + 3.9 variable = 23.7 LPA, Manager role(band: 6)

3.EXL Health Care(SCIO) - 21 fixed+3.5 variable +1 joining bonus = 25.5 LPA. Band B1.

Any suggestions of benefits, WLB, career growth, job security etc.,

F🐠 here. My neighbor is a restaurateur and texted me today that he’s bringing food from one of his restaurants for another neighbor and “figured [he’d] drop some off for [me] too.” Not sure if this matters but we’re both single.

Probably overthinking this but do I just accept and thank him (but I hate being indebted to ppl), offer to eat it together on our rooftop and I’ll bring the wine (but I’m not interested in him at all), give him a bottle of my house wine in exchange (seems kinda weird)?
