Isn’t that what you learn in MBA?

Not in my mba program! Lol

Sounds like we don’t trust you to create the content

Lol maybe! But I can’t imagine PPT skills should pay this well.

Those who do, do. Those who can't do, teach. Those who can't teach, consult. Critical thinking was never in the cards 🃏🃏🃏 Just a whole lot of jokers.

What do you do, PwC1?

The skill of PPT-ing is often mocked and rarely appreciated. However, being able to take extremely complex ideas and structure them onto a single, simple slide requires an intimate understanding of the topic/ ideas, critical thinking skills, and the ability to message things in a way it resonated with the audience. That being said, most consultants create slides that are pointless and worthless.

Come to tech implementation

Take a look at IBM, It might be a suitable bridge between consulting and technology.

If he wants to do more than build slides—he’ll have the opportunity. Trying to separate the broader challenges of the company vs the specific experience the staff member is looking for. Let’s not cast stones as every company has challenges (some certainly bigger than others), but each can provide an experience to help shape a career.

Where did you get your MBA ?

Agree with you 100%. We were taught meaningful skills like critical, analytical problem solving skills . We spend crazy amount of time fixing the damn formatting. I’m waiting for the day when we’d able to automate that and spend more time on work that’s more meaningful.

Have you tried the off-shore team that fixes formatting issues and cleans up slides?

Anyone else questioning getting an MBA in light of the pandemic and shifting sentiment on remote work? I started a job that’s fully remote and flexible. It’s in a fast moving industry and I feel like taking 2 years away can make me miss out on expected growth that will take place. 2 year grind and then working at some 9-5+ job that won’t be flexible and will likely have to go in office once things are back to normal. With current job I’m making good money and have more personal time.
