🙋♀️ This is my second week. No clue wtf I'm doing.
Started under a month ago and this WFH hasn’t helped with learning the role. I, too, feel like I’m failing.
Glad I’m not alone. Was just starting week 2 when we got the mandate to WFH. Completely different process from what I’m used to and I don’t even know who everyone is yet. Not ideal, just hoping I still have a job at the end of this!
I’d take it upon yourself to try to set up some quick intro calls with members of your team you might not know well. Might be a nice change of pace for them and allow you to demonstrate your value!
Same here
Just started last month and feel the same! Trying to figure out how best to work in this new environment and really hoping I still have a job when this is over!
Meeee! 🙋♀️ I started on the 3rd and we were sent home on the 10th. I’m trying to get training on processes (obviously it’s weird too because normal process just went out the window with the shut downs), but I feel like I can’t do anything right.
Start a new job Tuesday...am very nervous about how this is going to play out
I’m sure people will be welcoming! Having a specialized skill like digital strategy in my experience has made people understand they need you for expertise and rely on you for your opinion however they need to get in touch and loop you in.
Same. Just started week two and I feel like a fish out of water. Trying to keep stress levels low in the midst of it all.
I have an entry level employee starting tomorrow remotely, do you have tips on things that have hurt or helped your remote start?
Sounds like it’s going to be difficult for both of you but I think people are even more aware these days of the importance to connect with the people they work with so hopefully people will welcome helping to foster her/him. Taking time to teach a new member of the team may even be a welcome break from the day to day. Very close communication between you two will definitely be crucial.
Manager 1, my advice would be to make sure you have regular check-ins scheduled with your new employee. It’s hard not to feel like you’ve been completely forgotten when you don’t hear from your manager at least once a day. Even if there’s nothing new to talk about!
