Anyone else kind of hitting a... breaking point with everything? No I’m not depressed, but there’s no end in sight, never got a true break from work (if anything I’m working way more than prior years), seeing more people travel/venture out, etc. Yes, I know I’m lucky to be healthy and still have a job. I’m also aware other people have it much worse than I do. Just a strange feeling lately. Still going to social distance and all that stuff, just getting more challenging by the day.

Everyone has their own struggles... so it’s never the right thought to compare yourself to other (who are doing better or worse than you). It’s a tough time for everyone for different reasons. It’s challenging for me too. I’m close to my breaking point as well... hang in there!
A very stressful and sad time for sure. Some suggestions:
1. Exercise. Break a sweat and thanks to the endorphins that are released, you’ll feel better.
2. Talk to someone. If you’re feeling crappy, consider online therapy.
3. Volunteer. There’s something about helping others that makes you feel good about yourself.
4. Turn off the news.
5. Keep Netflix, Hulu, etc., but cancel cable. I just did it and I don’t miss broadcast TV at all. (FWIW, you can get an HDTV antenna for broadcast tv and if you’re close enough to the city, the reception is pretty good.)
6. Give FB and Insta a break.
7. Pray.
I hope this helps.
Agreed, agreed and agreed. I think the real question is how do we move forward? What can we do? A significant portion of the workforce is facing mental health issues/general fatigue and exhaustion.

Not according to leadership. Leadership continues to insist that we are doing great, switch to WFH was seamless, everyone is super-productive, situation stabilized, blah blah blah...

Yes, especially after senseless violence and lootings in Chicago overnight.

Yeah. Really feeling the split city
Take PTO and go hiking. Run, exercise, do everything unrelated to your job.
If working in public accounting is causing you to reach a breaking point, I would suggest looking for a job on the other side. While being in quarantine definitely sucks, public accounting has never been kind in hours or the amount of work one needs to complete on a given basis.
I feel ya. Took a few days off last week and had to get so much (non-work) crap done, I’m exhausted. It never ends... but I love working from home and everything. So I don’t know.. I love it but the monotony can definitely take its toll.
