Bro go work at our Canadian office. Get promoted to Manager. Transfer back to US using L1A. Get a green card in 6 months. It's a hassle I know 😔
Jesus. I'm sorry.
Same here OP, just hoping to get an internal transfer given that home sucks now.
@ey1 and d1: lets send you thousands of miles from where you want to be and ask how bad it is. I get frustrated when MS Outlook crashes; moving out of country would be more than just a pain in the ass. Granted, OP knew the risk and took it, but this sounds like a broken system.
I'm sorry, can u negotiate to work oversea and enter the lottery next year
Where is home? And is home really that bad?
Yeah where is home? Deported home shouldn't be bad. Also Big D lets you transfer you other member firms
Thanks BAH1. @PwC1: looking into options, but return home is most likely path. @EY1: Home is alright, but had been planning on building a career in the US for a few more years. Oh well, at least I don't have to worry about lay-offs!
Do CPT
Same boat. Probs didn't get it cause I haven't heard back and it's late May.
It used to a little easier to get the H1B a couple years ago but now I hear it's almost impossible. Also Deloitte is bad at sponsoring the green card these days. I already tried and they denied it making up a dumb excuse cause they know the moment I have it I'll be outta here
^ Yep, nowadays outsourcing firms (TCS, Infosys...) flood the system with applications (vast majority making less than $70k), which makes almost impossible for legit consultants to get it.
Sorry to hear man
BAH1. It's not like OP is going to a foreign country. S/he is going back to where they are from, born and raised. Unless that home is a sh!thole. OP has yet to mention said home.
@ey1: he/she not going to North Korea or Cuba, good news. Not getting to stay where he/she wants, bad news. Can you blame him/her for being upset? Even if it's an awesome place in your opinion, you can recognize why this person is dismayed by the news. After all, he/she was rejected thru no fault of their own.
Just overstay your visa and don't commit any crimes. You most likely won't be put into deportation proceedings, and even if you are they likely won't remove you if you're an upstanding citizen. If you need legal work authorization just apply for asylum. People from Western Europe even apply for asylum for the work authorization. It won't be granted, but you can drag out the asylum proceedings for YEARS with continuances.
