Has anyone ever had their salary reduced?
Hi. I would appreciate any advice on this. I have been working in TCS for 3 years in Support domain. I have completed my PGP in Data Science and Business Analytics. I have been trying to get placed in Accenture. I applied last November as a referral to Accenture. However, my resume was rejected. I thought it was because I was not serving notice period and still studying my PGP. However, I have completed my degree now and am looking to switch over. (In comments) Accenture Accenture India

I’ve been at my job for about a year. Everyone is really nice but I’m the only lawyer. Going from a office of 500+ lawyers to not having anyone else there who understands how I think about things is the worst part.

I am in office two days a week, home three days. I don’t have any “friends” per se, but have a couple people Im “friendly” with. Im the sole in house labor/employment atty at our company. I don’t do any of the substantive legal work for our day to day business, so don’t work with any of the other attorneys. I just advise HR/EEO management. In my own silo. Been there 8 months. Didn’t even get a lunch invite or anything on my first day/welcoming. Im also a new role, and a lot of people don’t think my role should exist (we also have a large union presence.) I am not there to make friends, but it certainly makes the day to day grind easier. I feel what you’re saying. Most jobs I’ve had a good crew of coworkers and good banter, lunches, happy hours etc.
Pretty much in the same situation, sole labor and employment attorney working with HR everyday and just working individually
You’re not alone. It’s tough and sometimes awkward to make work friends. Sounds like you may be in a situation where you need to take the lead yourself and make a conscious effort to initiate. Hopefully you will find some genuine and worthwhile friendships.
And all the folks in my bldg are not clients-they do different work.
Same here. Work remote mostly but were in house counsel so we aren’t invited to the cool social things unless it’s a firm wide event lol. Will randomly bump into people at bars but that’s very rare.
I don’t but I also don’t want work friends. I’ve seen how breaking down that boundary can go very badly.
