Strategy and consulting folks, did you enjoy making the move to investor role PE?

Got yelled at by a senior exec in a call with many others today. I’m in shock, this can’t be normal right?
I’m in industry now but this never happened to me in consulting

What are some consulting careers for tax folks? Or any other paths post MBA that deals in tax? Have enough GI bill and made enough trading where I can take a 2 year break but still accomplish a milestone. Did 3 years in a core group and 2 in M&A tax. Enjoyed the work but want to go back to school while young enough. Any ideas? Is there anything in PE where having tax experience helps?

I left my role as Director of Engineering a year ago, to take a position in technical sales. I took about a $50k hit on my pay per year but I’ve always wanted to try out sales and wanted that experience under my belt. The position I took was for a key account manager for one auto OEM. This OEM, I worked there for 19 years so I had a lot of contacts there. Long story short, this OEM basically told me that they won’t buy anything from me because they don’t like my product. What happens next?

I have a basic of 20 lpa currently, working as a band 30 - Sr Analyst at Amex. I feel I am significantly undercompensated. I was promoted this year in Feb and will be promoted to manager most likely next year. I wanted to understand from you guys if this is the right time for me to switch and get a good hike.
