Anyone else on PTO this week just so it doesn't get written off?

Do any firms give you “billable time” equivalent for taking vacation or time off? I think it’s kinda scammy that firms offer “unlimited pto” but still expect you to meet your hours without giving any hours equivalent for that PTO time you took. In reality, you’re not really taking PAID time off because you’ll have to make up those hours at some point in the year anyway.

I hit rock bottom (I mean it) and in 6 weeks I managed a vacation, landed a new job, found a great guy, and landed a bomb apartment. Everything can change at the drop of a hat - keep your chin up.

Need advice: I just started this week at my new company and prior to joining I brought tickets with my friends together for a one week vacation to the West Coast. It will be the week of 7/4. Now I just talked to my manager about taking the week off, but found out we are actually really busy that week. There were some compromise, but still not ideal. I have really 3 options: change my group flight, cancel, or work during the vacation. Any other options or advice will be helpful!

I have been in sales even before college. I'm reaching a burn out. I feel like the expectations get higher the more work I put in and that ends with me putting on many hats to get done. I can't catch a break, let alone allowed a decent vacation without having to negotiate based on performance. I honestly don't want to be in sales forever. I'm versatile when it comes to any tasks due to the nature of wearing many hats. Any suggestions?

Hi, so I’ve been working as a (TCP temporary creative professional) while one of the agency’s employees was on leave. I understood it to be a FT position, clocking in, etc but last week a bunch of employees were on vacation and I didn’t get projects. My work from the week before was all approved, so I had no edits. I asked for work, reached out, etc but ended up with very few billable hours, which annoyed the bosses. Now I’m not sure how to proceed. Do I NGAF, clock in? Or wait for work?

I've noticed that a lot of angel group meetings happen during the work day. My understanding is that most angels have other day jobs. Do people just take time off work to go to these meetings? Are most angels entrepreneurs themselves?
