Risk of getting fired as a new experienced hire in HC with solid 3 ratings and tons of impactful PRD, but on the bench for too long?
Got called Friday at 1pm saying I could only bill 10hrs next week and had to roll off after due to budget. Wow thanks its not like you had a budget excel sheet and could have told me this atleast...
ON THE BENCH!! After almost 2 years of being on different projects, couldn’t be happier for a little break. What do folks do on the bench to enjoy it to the max? Do tell! 🤗
The recruitment that is being done for project specific roles, what happens once the project is done? How's the bench system in mindtree? Do they throw people out in that case??
I don’t understand how people keep posting about the bench and being unassigned. I’m in advisory(not audit) and my entire LoS is trending 90%+ utilization
As a new joiner to the firm, how many weeks of bench time are considered ok ? And when should I start looking outside ?
Acn people: Got a generic email from TFS taking about things to do when on the bench, it also mentioned we must now be in the local office everyday, legit or ignore?
Need advice for resigning while on bench. I already have a start date with the new employer. Should I do a traditional two week notice or give <=1 week notice instead? My goal is to not burn bridges, but I also don’t want to get let go on the spot since I have nothing to “wrap up” besides HR tasks. I’ve read on here that sometimes they will let you go day of and pay you out for two weeks but I don’t see why any firm would do that for somebody not currently performing billable work...
What general duties and responsibilities should grad hires have had experience of during their first 2-3 months? That’s assuming that they’re not on the bench..tryna compare my experience to others.
Last night in NYC for awhile fam. Roll off is tomorrow. Gonna miss being here with y’all
Anyone else love listening to Bollywood music in the gym? Others probably think I have hip hop or rap playing but in reality I’m doing bench press while blasting badri ki dulhania 😂🇮🇳
Hi folks, Recently received an offer of 7 CTC from LTI in grade P1(not sure what it is), in RPB BU(Repurpose Bench). Wanted to know more about this business unit. Also how much is the deduction and in hand salary
What’s the difference in severity between messing up enough to get rolled off a project and enough to be put on a performance improvement plan?
TMW your Senior Manager leaves the program/firm the day before you're supposed to finalize your own roll off plan. 😖 🔫 #nevermind
Me: I should really do something with all this spare bench time I have. Also me: let me check IG, fbook, fbowl, and challenge all my working friends to a mobile game for 8 hrs
How to best utilize your time when you’re on the bench? I have started some online learning, getting ready for CFA, exercising, cooking, reading books, but I still feel that I have plenty of unused time. And the routines are killing me too.
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
If you project ends right around when you turn in 2 week notice, will most company let you go immediately or honor your 2 weeks? Those 2 weeks will just be bench weeks then. (I’m Not going to a competitor).
Of McKinsey Chicago, BCG Chicago, and Bain Chicago, which has the best WLB? Particularly for the entry level role?
500k at 31 which is great but I still feel like I’ll never be able to afford a house in my area (~1M). My money is pretty much 50% 401k 50% investments.
Looking to create a tool we can use for stakeholder relationship tracking. We want to be able to hear a clients name, look them up in the tool, see info about their role and department, and see which of our consultants have worked with them before and on what projects. Trying to think of an easy to use, interactive tool beyond something like excel. What’s something you’ve used for this before? Don’t think we’ll be going as far as purchasing a license for a CRM software
So I left B4 risk assurance because I found the work a drag and moved to a boutique place where I was hoping to get a better experience or shape my career the way I want. However, this place isn’t what I was expecting and the project I’m on requires deadly hours and is staff aug. I’m looking to do this for a year and go back to b4 (as I like being in a bubble) but a different service line. How possible is this?
Hi All... I got an offer yesterday from HCL for Data Science role directly hired for a client in UK. Can anyone guide me with proper advice for the below questions about HCL. 1. How is HCL in general? 2. How is the work life balance there? 3. How is it in terms of job security? 4. Do they pay the variable components fully? 5. Do they give any shift allowance? Thank you all in advance.
My company expects me to work over 12 hours a day and I’m being asked to work the weekend constantly. Its making me extremely frustrated as I feel my labor is being exploited. Is it like this at other agencies? Has anyone made the switch to client side?
I got a new job and was told that I can only roll over pre-tax 401k because the company does not offer roth 401k. I have a lot more money stored in roth 401k from my previous employer.. what should I do to keep it?

Help! Have an interview in my client city in the late afternoon today. What excuse can I use to leave early and take my stuff from the team room? Need to leave by 4
How do you concentrate on work when personal issues get in the way? My fiancé recently told me that I don’t do anything worth appreciating in the midst of an argument about division of household labor. Although I normally do almost all of the housework and at least half the cooking, I have not done that in the past two weeks as I’ve been prepping for trial. I’m furious of course, but have other things I need to be concentrating on.
Currently interviewing for accounting advisory role at another firm. The interviewer implied I need to be hired at a lower level due to lack of advisory experience before evaluated for promotion in fall this year. Anyone having thought if this is good move or no?
Any foster moms out there? I’m curious if companies provide parental leave to support new fostering relationships? Have your companies been supportive of the time commitment during work hours?
I hate using Microsoft Teams.
I had one interview round and was told that I have been selected and there will no further rounds. Have completed the pre hire survey and submitted my documents. Am I the only in this situation or are there any other candidates as well. Can I negotiate a higher salary?
When it comes to LinkedIn connections with clients, do you usually send them a request after a project or wait and see if they connect with you?
I haven’t seen this out there, but it came up in my college class; don’t record your Zoom sessions if there’s any interaction with students. It violates FERPA.
