Guys I can’t stop
Thinking of picking up a tan blazer...worth it?
Hi Fishes, I am a Subcon working at CG and have resigned recently with NP of 30 days. Is it necessary to explain as why I have decided to leave? If yes, will it be okay if I tell them practical reason but it would be a lie ofcourse. By any means, i have no intentions of staying back/receiving conversion or even hike since I have a way better opportunity with an organisation of repute and I don't want to get into any corporate politics. Will it be a problem for me if they find out later?Capgemini

I have a degree and I’m still struggling to get a new job.
It’s crazy how that works in the middle of a “labor shortage.” 🥴
Go on LinkedIn. Do some research. Find people who are in careers you would like, who don’t have a bachelor’s degree. Or who went to the same high school as you. Reach out to them. Keep it short- no more than 4-5 lines. Ask if they don’t mind sparing time for a fellow- “same high-school-er” and you’d like to hear more bout their career trajectory and how they ended up at xyz company. On the call actually ask them about themselves, about their role in the company, trends etc. then ask for advice, given your situation. If there is a way they can help at that point they will offer it without your having to ask. If you create a spreadsheet of like 30-50 people you will approach in this way, you will eventually get a hit. Alternatively you can reach out directly to recruiters and employment agencies. They would be able to tell you what kind of roles you can qualify for and give you some leads. It’s a numbers game- but more about actually reaching out to people than just handing in applications. View online applications like a black box in which everything gets lost. Goodluck, you can do it.
I have a masters and I still struggle with landing a job due to “lack of experience” so I started my own business to gain experience
Share where you live if you’re looking. You never know!
Thank you!! Hope you find the perfect candidate!
I’m sorry to hear that- I’ve always hated how the US values the degree over experience so much. I’d try nonprofits maybe?
I actually started my career in a non profit! Love working for non-profits. Though it’s hard to find one with adequate compensation. Money isn’t my biggest concern but the bills do need to be paid! Lol
I worry that’s the one thing holding me back despite 8 years of experience, 4 of which has been in a manager/director role.
7 YoE for me with 6 in a director role… right there with you!
I graduated with my master’s in April 2020…got laid off in August 2020 due to COVID, and still haven’t been able to find a job. Even with 4+ years of relevant experience. I’ve been ghosted so many times. It’s wilddd. I’ve honestly never felt so defeated.
Consider using your skills as a Virtual Assistant.
If you can, get your degree. You CAN land jobs without it, but it will continue to be a thorn in your side and why limit yourself. Personally it took longer to reach director and anything above that will be even more difficult.
