Out of curiosity. How would a company view a potential candidate who has a period of unemployment to study for the CPA. I am considering to start studying for the exam but I know I would need to leave my employer in order to give 110%. I am contemplating the idea of at least passing one part while employed. Then leaving my employer to study FAR. I am considering to leave my current employer anyways, so it’s more of how my future employer would view that lapse.

Anyone in a LDR ? I’ve been in a LDR for 5 years now, and I’m really sad about how long it takes for me and my partner to build our future projects. I knew it would take this long bc we live in 2 different countries, two nationalities. It’s just taking so much time and I’m loosing patience, but my partner is blaming me for being negative/not being patient and not supporting us at the moment. I'm one of 3 learning strategists at my school. However, I'm the MAIN strategist that cover for absent teachers. I just finished taking over a grade until it was filled with a new teacher. Admin works closely with the other 2. I'm not included in any school data/presentation to help the new teachers on staff. I believe the other strategists are working against me. They are assigned classes when I'm not available. The union says it's at the principal's discretion. What would you do?

I had 8 conferences scheduled this evening and 3 parents were a no-show. I just find it so disrespectful and I feel it sends the wrong message to kids when the parents don’t care enough to show.

How much do you pay for benefits? I am thinking about moving districts but I am not sure what the hidden fees are for their benefits. Wish it was more transparent, I feel like other districts get paid way more but I was wondering if they syphon your money away with health insurance, dental etc.

Thanks to all who offered advice on retirement and FMLA. I think I will just retire after my sick days are used up. I'm 58, over 28 years teaching. Pension is good. I'm just worried about district not accepting Anxiety as medical reason. Can they fight me. Will a simple note from Dr or therapist explaining I am seeing therapist for anxiety suffice?
