Any Plaintiff 🐠 here use a record request service instead of doing it yourselves? (I’m based in Chicago, if that matters).
I got an offer from CTS, I'm not able to accept because of issue with registration link. It asks for a password (which i don't have) and forget password link doesn't show my correct mobile number.
Please advise what to do here. TIA
Having 8.7 YOE now, Joined wipro 4 months back with 26.5+1lac JB. Skills business analytics. My current project does not follow agile processes at all, very relaxed client. However what im worried is after 2 years would interviewers expect me to have handled a project all alone and acted as a product owner. Thats what i sense once i have 10 YOE, if i switch it would be 6th company, (2 years break due to MBA ofcourse)

Any thoughts/holders on SQ? Had a ridiculous run yesterday after a (very) brief dip Monday morning to ~$81.50.
Headed to SF for a week in April with family. We agreed on a “do your own thing” day and I want to go hiking. Unfortunately the 4hr drive from SF to Yosemite/Sierra/etc is too much for one day. 1/2
Noticing job postings stating high salary ranges for CA, CO, NYC, etc. I live in NY not NYC and work for a startup. I feel like the last two startups I’ve worked for the compensation departments have not done a great job at offering me a salary that is even close to my market value. I’ve had to take two pay cuts now after two layoffs, and am trying to strategically plan. How do you suggest I navigate the market value discussion, and turn it into a value based discussion? Any job recommendations?
Does this mean they are willing to pay me more? I would honestly be ok with $30/h but would you counter offer for per project basis since it was brought to the table?
Anyone joining Salesforce Bangalore office anytime soon and looking for flats to rent near office?
Read something a couple of months ago about how only corporate counsels have a path to General Counsel - is this true? Is it harder to become the Head of Legal or Chief Legal Officer of a company if one starts out their in-house career as a commercial counsel?

Hi guys! I joined Deloitte 3yrs back as a campus recruit. The offer letter that I got at that time was a protected one which I am not able to access now as that has expired. But I need that offer letter for document upload in another company’s recruitment process. Is there a way I can access that? I did not find in tod.
Is anyone from Bangalore here? Can you please suggest some good areas to get a flat, from where I can commute easily.

For those superstar associates, how did your firm/partners treat you differently? I am not one and wondering what it is line to be a star associate..
I practice PE M&A at one of the big firms in the space, but I'm getting tired of just doing M&A transactions and would like to explore doing other kinds of corporate transactions at a place like Goodwin, Cooley or Gunderson where only part of the work in the group is M&A and the rest is essentially being in house corporate counsel. Has anyone made a move similar to what I would be doing? Is it easier to find time for a personal life or is it the same level of demands?
Any tips on how to confront a staffer who’s becoming passive aggressive, constantly interrupting, and pressing me literally every few minutes to ‘see how progress is coming’. FYI, staffer is a 4Y associate. We’re on a deadline. I am, lower than low on the totem poll, yet, do not believe this is professional behavior. I’m happy to put off our conversation until after the deadline, but I’m not keen on working with them in the future unless this is solved.
Any insight into Goodwin’s real estate group? Would hypothetically be joining as a junior
Is anyone genuinely happy at their Big Law firm? Obviously, comp is great and top level work, but is anyone considering sticking it out for the long run instead of lateraling to a smaller firm or going in-house? Looking for any details you want to share about your positive experience, name of firm and group (if you feel comfortable or approximate Am Law ranking), and why you want to stick it out.

Can anyone at White & Case confirm that they’re telling their associates they won’t be matching the Milbank scale?
I know this question is somewhat vague and broad but I’ll soon be joining a Banking & Finance team (in BigLaw) as a junior associate. I’d be grateful for any tips on how to thrive in this role. What characteristics make a good junior transactional lawyer?
Do people actually like litigation? Just trying to assess if the job is bad or if I’m just not well suited for this work.
From Rome to New York.
I work in Kpmg as a legal specialist (before I worked in BigLaw for 1 year) and I have just passed the NY bar exam (plus I have the gc and an LLM). I am sending my resume to big four and big law trying to get a job offer but I just did one interview. Any tip or advice? What are the firms that would find my profile interesting?
what percent of your income do you pay in rent?
What do you folks consider a reasonable monthly rent as a single Big Law associate, limited to true 1-bedroom apartments in Manhattan? I'm a mid-level associate on market pay. I'm a little squeamish at the notion of paying more than like $4k, but everything I've looked at in/below that range is kind of sketchy or involves terrible commutes to midtown. Is it too indulgent of me to pay around $4,200-$4,300 in rent every month?
Is anyone taking the NYLE this weekend? Or know where to get a searchable PDF outline for it?

Yes, I realized within the first three months that I wouldn’t be staying. I paid off my loans and then stayed until I was a fifth year. It never got easier or more bearable, but I became accustomed to it a little bit (for better or worse). I’m really glad I stayed as long as I did because of the freedom that what I was able to save provides me with. I’m sure this is a similar experience for biglaw associates.
Feeling similar, but I also can’t decide yet what impact the past year/pandemic has had on my ambition. I suspect it is significant.
I feel the same way, but I think it’s had a significant impact on my priorities as well.
Respectfully, two months in a 100 year pandemic is not nearly enough time to throw in the towel, especially if this is your first professional job. I know this is a brutal time. That’s so for all of us but most especially for first years. Try your best to give it another year before you make any major judgments. The signs are positive for a return to normalcy. If you still hate your job after we’re back on a normal path, you then can examine and pursue other options.
