The person I’m seeing has been responding to my texts days later (only a recent development) and it’s making me anxious. My SO told me he wanted to take a break and I told him that we should rather break up for good but never heard back from him. During the break, I met couple of guys and things happened. Now my SO wants to be back in my life and I told him what I have been up-to. I gave him the classic “But we were on a break” line and he got more upset. Every day of my life feels the same. The monotony of my job and taking care of the young kiddos is just the same over and over. I love my parents but they squabble all the time. My mom nags and my dad gets angry. Then she talks back. If I say something, they yell at me. I am not looking forward to the holidays. I wish desi parents wouldnt do this.

Just had a surgery to remove a lesion that had 40% chance of becoming cancer. I had a group text to keep family & friends informed. Nobody from family actually called to check on me. Five friends called to see how I was doing and feeling. Parents are deceased, I’m the youngest sibling (+5 to 8 years older) and the only one anybody keeps in contact with. Time to cut family? They obviously don’t care what’s going on in my life. One sibling never even responded.

Trust. I had three situations in the last 24 hours where things did not work out as they should or I was given wrong information. These situations were small and are definitely first world issues.

But it underlined for me how important trust is and how I feel so alone not having anyone there I know 100% I can trust them.

I’m depressed. Nothing unique about my depression - I’m in big law, my career defines me, when I’m not working I can’t find the will to get off the couch, I’m sad or I’m numb…I know I’m the only one that can make a change to my life…I’m on antidepressants. Just extremely unmotivated and paralyzed. Self-help books are not for me, but I am curious - has anyone tried a guided depression/anxiety journal? Any recommendations if so?
