Not so much fatigue but still get the random cold sweats and hot flashes—and I’m pretty healthy/fit/male. Have your hormones checked if you can and try to do a sleep study if possible (if at all possible during this environment).

Yes - i get the cold sweats and hot flashes as well. Was pretty fit before this whole thing and now can barely walk a few blocks without getting out of breath. Late 20s F.

It’s been about 4 weeks since I started experiencing symptoms (extreme headaches, nausea/ vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, fever, cough, chest pain and pressure, body aches and extreme fatigue — and probably forgetting a few but it was rough). The last week it’s been more pneumonia-like symptoms, could barely walking for a few days. I’ve been feeling okay the last three days but still get very fatigued still. I’ve always had underlying asthma and I get winded a lot, which before all of this I did cardio and weights every day. I’m not sure when I’ll feel 100% again but I’ve heard it’s a very long recovery process from my best friend who is a nurse in a COVID-19 unit. Hope you all feel better soon!

My partner can hardly walk and talk at the same time without gasping for air. In addition hot/cold flashes. Nightmares. No sense of smell. Pressure on chest. Loss of sensitivity in some nerves - and a few other things. It’s been 3 weeks since her quarantine and she used to be really fit (27). Yeah. ‚Only a flu‘. 😕 (Edit: her symptoms during the active infection where going on for 2-3 weeks. High fever, trouble breathing/pressure on chest, loss of smell/taste, some dry coughing, some diarrhea, muscle cramps, joint pain, very weak - not hospitalized, but really not far from it)

I hope you and your partner feel better soon as well! I’m hoping for antibody tests to become widely available so I can know for sure. Also, the crazy nightmare dreams, such a weird symptom. I have insane dreams every night. Last night was a Battle Royale style murder party.

It took me about a month to get my energy back. Don’t push it, give yourself time to recover.

Yup

It will take time. Drink plenty of water, EmergenC, make sure you eat nutritious meals, drink green juice and tea with ginger (helps with energy too).

Quite a few viruses out there can cause damage to their host's mitochondria, which will cause fatigue for awhile until cell turnover clears the old damaged cells. If that's all it is, I wouldn't be too concerned

No problem! I personally avoid most supplements given the lack of government regulation with them, but was pretty desperate to get some function back and found the studies promising so I went for it after my doctor's approved me trying it. Even if you don't go that route, there are other ways to support mitochondrial health, like diet and moderate exercise (for example, I'd avoid alcohol for awhile bc it depletes NADH which is needed for ATP production- ATP is an energy carrying molecule)

It’s been 6 weeks now and I think any tiredness I’m experiencing is from work crazy and getting stir crazy. Full taste not back yet and periodic days with no smell at all, hoping those come back 🤷🏼‍♀️

like

Yes my sense of smell would come and go. When I am tired or first wake up in the morning I have none.

And I tested negative a month ago

I’ve not met anyone who had covid. Can you tell us about your experience?

like

Yes five weeks in fatigue and chills, rigors and fever continue. In bed by 8 PM latest each night and often need a nap mid-day if I could... Chest tightness comes and goes but pulsox always good above 95...

Sorry EY1, you’re so disciplined to continue working in this state. Please eat well and stay hydrated. Hot water seemed to make me fee better and I drank a ton of it when I was coughing/feverish.

I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
