Half the time? I go into the office maybe one day week 🤫

We are given the choice on where we want to work in my office. The flexibility is amazing. If it’s a regular office day (no depositions, meetings, or hearings), I’m certainly doing that from home. Love it.

My firm isn’t sending us back until at least January

Yes, and I love it. I hope it never changes.

I’m still at home every day with rare exception. I never want to go back…

like

Yes. Love the half and half. Get some time in the office to network and learn and have great in person meetings. Tend to stay home when I really need to focus on a task like drafting, and every Friday!

Hi. I have a question. In a world where COVID is under control, how would you feel if your companies went back to being fully in the office? But maybe others were adopting a hybrid model- some days remote, some days in the office. Would it make you want to work elsewhere? How important is being able to work remote (at a location of your choice, not at client /travelling) a few days a week to your job satisfaction?

Overworked mom of two young kids and I’ve come to the realization that I have very few friends who live nearby. I’m the only one of my close circle who didn’t head to suburbs after kids and WFH has made me aware of how reliant I was on work friends for a social outlet. I’ve still got great friends I can call for anything but, really missing having girlfriends I can just meet up without planning a month in advance. Strategies for making new friends in middle age and with very little spare time?

Anyone else getting hit with crazy requests lately that are beyond absurdity with scheduling or budget (even both)? In the same week I have been asked to do a remote docu shoot with real people for under 10k, an animated spot for tv in two weeks without a descent budget for the ask and a photo shoot for under 15k where the talent usage is in perpetuity and it’s only Wednesday!!!

Been working remote since the beginning of the pandemic. Back in the office in January and trying to finalize childcare. Recruiters connecting with me for new job opportunities. Scared to even consider a shift out of my current company where I may have some flexibility bc I've been there for so long, but they're dragging their feet with giving me a well deserved raise. So unsure what to do. Shift now, or cont to negotiate $ at current job or hit the road and let the childcare figure itself out.
