Anyone else struggle to enter time daily? If you’ve overcome this hurdle, how did you do it? I keep a notebook for my time and then send it off to a secretary to enter but I still miss so much of it that I always have to go back through my emails.

I used to, but now I make it a game to hit 9.5 everyday which will bring me to 2200 with a whole month off. And at which I’m able to ppl to buzz off at my firm. So the sooner I record that, that better off I will be when I want time off.

I love this approach! If you have time I’d love to hear how you’ve implemented this

Forever following these posts bc no I haven’t figure it out either … side note I wish I had a secretary at least you have some help lol

I keep the billing software up all day and hit the timer when I start a task. Before I started Vyvanse, I was absolutely shit at recording my time. I’d go through emails, etc to figure out what i did AT THE END OF THE MONTH. It was a disaster. People told me to keep my time as I went but I was bouncing all over the place so I would forget to switch the timer when I changed tasks. Now that I’m medicated, I’m able to just do it. And I can stay on the same task without getting distracted. And now that I’ve built the habit, if someone comes in and talks to me or the phone rings or whatever, I hit stop on the timer. If it’s a client call, I pull up the new matter on the timer as I’m speaking to them and hit start.

But also I let calls go to voicemail mostly and call them back when I’m done with my task. The meds have helped me be less impulsive and easily distracted, so an email or phone call doesn’t derail my focus anymore.

All that is to say that Vyvanse saved my job and made it so much less stressful for me. For the first time in three years I will hit and exceed my hours for the year. I got diagnosed because I was sure I was going to be fired because I was so so horrible at recording my time.

I input it into Clio as it happens. Clio also has an app and outlook integration so I can send an email and keep time for writing the email all within outlook. Not that I I’m always perfect, but it’s the best way for me to handle time entry.

I always keep an excel sheet open in the background and add my time as I go

helpful

Also do this

I keep The software open on my screen and visible when ever possible and when I start a a task I put in the client number and description and a .10 then I update the description and time spent as I go. If the phone rings or I get an urgent email or just want to switch tasks, I enter the remaining time and do the same thing again. I also started setting up time entries in advance with things I need to work on that day. Then it’s easier for me to switch between tasks.

This is GENIUS. I’m trying this tomorrow.

I made it a habit to write my time down contemporaneously as I work on something and then enter it all at the end of the week. I learned the hard way that if I don’t start to write it down as I’m about to start working on something, I’ll forget/it’s a struggle to write narratives that sing.

I’ve been trying to figure out dosage and medication over the past month and wanted some insight from people who may have more experience with diff doses. I started with 5mg Adderall for 2 weeks but it stopped being effective around the 4-5th day. I switched to 10 mg for a week and it was good but a bit up and down, so switched to Vyvanse 30 mg for a week, which was too strong. I’m now on 15 mg Adderall, but it feels like I can’t concentrate and I’m scattered. Question in comments:

Tired of my pharmacy. Every single month I have to call the pharmacy for my Adderall, they say they don’t have any prescriptions for me, they ask for additional information, they magically find it, and then I have to wait like 1 to 8 hours to have it filled. It’s a pointless phone call. Why do I have to repeat these shenanigans every month?! Is it just Rite Aid? Is CVS any better? So irritating.

Alternatively, does anyone have recs of anyone I can to talk to so I can be tested?

How do you approach the initial conversation with your doctor? I have taken a variety of both anti anxiety and anti depressants. Nothing works. I’ve been reading online and in this bowl, and a lot of ADHD symptoms really resonate with me. They have for a long time, frankly, but I couldn’t get my former provider to take me seriously when I was in college/law school. I’m hoping the context of being out of school helps, but I just want to make sure I maximize my odds of getting help (cont)

On days when I don’t have a full workload, it’s very (I think way too) easy for me to blow off the entire day either reading news/social media and doing other things not relevant to work. I also have a habit of wanting to focus on anything but what I need to get done. Can anyone relate to either or both of these and possibly a sign of ADD/ADHD? I have an appt with my primary care doc next week but been curious about this tendency of mine for awhile.
