Thank you for sharing :) I'm doing my best to keep busy and sane and sometimes get anxious when I don't hear back from a friend. It's a good reminder that it's not you! It's so tough for everyone right now

#1 is such a real problem...it’s made me realize who in my friend group actually is empathetic as well as shown who genuinely cares about our friendship outside of just doing activities together. I am basically in my own little bubble with friends outside my city/state/country but I’m coming to terms with it. Gonna maybe try meetup or bumble bff after covid to try and expand my friend group.

I definitely am. I am in relationship and most of my friends here in nyc are single. And between working crazy hours, I am so spent/tired. One of my friends has a lot more flexibility and time plus less careful on COVID. And wants to meet up all the time including indoors and I am just not with it. She is also dating around so not sure how I could risk my health and other ppl in my immediate bubble just to appease her. So I haven’t. And she is upset.

Also in my early 30’s with the same issue. I have a couple of friends that I see here and there but it’s been just my SO and I for the most part. 😢 It’s been really hard. Thought about using Bumble BFF but haven’t yet.

Does anyone know of where to find remote part time work opportunities for older Indian women? My mom was a part-time after school teacher but has not been doing that due to covid (dad is high risk). I’m having her do some online typing lessons to get her to be a faster typer, maybe find her a data entry gig. She does not want to do nanny’ing / babysitting. She’s a great teacher though and she’s trilingual (Telugu, hindi) - anyone know of where to find opportunities?

My principal approached me in the car pick up line on Friday to inform me that I’ve taken to many days off & school has just started. I took 1day off when my daughter tested positive for Covid, I had an doctor’s appt that had been scheduled 6 months ago to see the hematologist. Being that I’m anemic, current labs showed I need to have 2 iron infusions. I put in for 2 more days off to have that done. He told me in the future to wait until a work day! We done have any until December!!

Not work related but idk where to ask this. We’ve been invited to our first post Covid cookout. It’s at my husband’s former colleagues place so we don’t the hosts too well but we know there are not going to be any kids so mostly a grown up football party. What would bring to it? Because of the current scenario I’m skeptical of bringing my home cooked dip.

Can we all admit now that covid is NOTHING like the flu? Like its July, why is this thing still going? And how are we recording 60k cases a day? At that rate the whole country will have caught it by years end. The flu goes away --- this stuff hasn't lost a step

I find that single male friends of friends are generally very eager when we first met or were introduced (through events, common friends’ parties). I got invited to their hangout bunch / house parties (pre-covid), but the moment we established i have no romantic interest and only friendships, they disappeared and we become barely acquaintance. I genuinely want to keep them in my life as friends. Why is this the case?

Anyone else at a firm so rooted in the past that you’re embarrassed explaining it to other attorneys? Example: We are 10 months into COVID and my firm still hasn’t decided on/implemented a video meeting platform (Zoom, Teams, etc.). So if I want to have a video meeting I have to ask the other party to use their video services. And it’s not at all a funding issue.

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
