My wife is really irritated that I still expect someone else to prepare all my meals. I’ve eased the burden by eating hand-held fruit for breakfast instead of my normal Marriott omelette

Expensed meals were great until I gained 15 pounds flying coast to coast weekly for a year.
Given OP mentioned both “cost” and “not having expenses meals” it sounds like it’s a budget issue. Shouldn’t be though...

For me, any minor increase in grocery/alcohol spend recently has been massively offset by reduced restaurant and trip spend — I’m saving something over $1,000 a month more than I was pre-COVID-19 (which is probably an indicator that I was spending way too much money eating out and traveling)
Struggle as in you have to plan and make and cook? Or struggle as in you can’t afford? If it’s the second I’m sure you can afford food just fine.
