Thanks for posting. No smoke without fire I guess. I see logic in selling off PS but other Big 4 make it work with sizable Federal practice so not totally convinced that a sale is necessary. Could be interesting depending what a PE buyer wants to do with it
Yep, itās being shopped.
P2 agreed. Plus this would be the 2nd time in a relatively short period they are selling the federal Practice. They chose to buy it back at one point...I think it's a bad idea considering all of the deals Public Sector is already making for the firm.
Also, Scott didnāt deny it it. Scott said the rumor that weāre being sold, ābecause PwC wants more audit work,ā isnāt true, and then he told us how awesome we are, and then he said, āIf we were going to sell you, here what it would take...ā
You know what he didnāt say? āWeāre not selling PS."
Aren't there nepotism rules about our leadership dating?
Where did you hear that from OP? I've not heard anything about it
Then Scott M said today that it's a rumor and untrue....
Itās true. Thereās def a buyer, just have no clue who yet.
Fwiw, some of the stuff in the reuters article is iffy. The DOD has not stood for an audit. Federal law requires then to do so eventually, and they have started preparing for audits. The due date was 9/30/17, but I'm guessing they blew past that.
Also, the PWC practice serving usaid is probably not a big contributor to a $500M deal.
... Some more googling and some DOD deputy said they wouldn't make the 2017 deadline back in 2015. Sometimes you're planning to fail if you fail to plan. Sounds like this guy started with failure in mind...
Makes sense considering itās run as a completely separate business than the rest of the company. Pdubs seems to be hurting for cash anyway, could be a good way to better fund partner pensions
