Anyone else use half-n-half in their oatmeal? I tried making it with water and it was terrible. Any alternatives? Almond Milk maybe?

For the tastiest, healthiest and best breakfast out there - soak steel cut oats in 2% milk over night. The next morning add some more milk, or water (sometimes I do half of both) and cook in microwave for 1.5 mins. Stir and cook for another 1 to 1.5 mins. Nothing else needs to be added except for sugar to taste. I've been doing it for a LONG time.

Okay but the carbs...

I actually use oat milk in my oatmeal. Is it redundant? Maybe, but it’s creamy and thick, I love it. I used to use dairy but it has this disgusting after taste and makes a weird layer of slime in your mouth. Oat milk much better 👍

Dawg, use oatmilk in your oatmeal. So you can have oats while having oats.

Stir in some Greek yogurt after it’s cooked. Adds creaminess and protein

Almond milk is tasteless except when you make oatmeal in it. For some reason it’s way more creamy than milk or water with milk added

EVERYONE STOP. There is one tip about oatmeal no one does, and it changed my life. TOAST your dry oats in butter until browned, then boil/soak/microwave as you wish. The flavor boost is INSANE. Trust me!

I used half and half when I had those mini packet oatmeal’s I’d take to work in the old world. At home I use soy or almond milk and about half a cup of water. I used Calfia’s coconut almond milk when I want to feel fancy haha

Oat milk, for the power of oat squared and then I throw in some protein powder.

For something relatively unique, go for a savory oatmeal dish rather than the usual sweet and fruity. Runny Eggs for creaminess, avocado for more deliciousness, tajin or your preferred hot sauce.

I legitimately had never considered putting anything but water in my oatmeal in my entire 30 years of life. What is life right now?

I am moving geographies and so in a bit of dilemma. The hiring manager reached out for a consultant level role, a level down from my current title. She said the Sr. con role just filled up so either I could interview for consultant level position or wait for a few months when Sr. Consultant positions opens up. I have limited client facing experience since I went from backend to front end and also opportunity to move to desired geography. Not sure how to tackle this smartly. Any thoughts?
