Hi fishes, i joined USI 2 years back in EA ( global finance, data analytics) at 5.6 , got a 15% hike this year means i bearly beat the two year inflation and now take around 6.8 . At 4.5 years of experience i feel my ctc is quiet low and i do not have any hopes of corrections that are due in dec. Looking to automate every paycheck and let it run for next 10-15 years. I have vanguard and fidelity. Any suggestion on funds with low expense ratios?
I’m currently in biglaw and interviewing for an in house role. I had an interview with HR where they asked my salary expectations and I basically said I’m flexible but the opportunity is what’s important to me. They then said their targeting x amount for the role and I said that was in the ballpark of what I would consider. Does anyone have experience with this line of questioning from HR and has anyone negotiated for higher than the number they initially said they were targeting?
Are all you associates getting crushed right now? I haven’t had a breather in months. No amount of bonus seems worth it right now
Comp question - what should a B4 Senior with a CPA, CFF, CFE, and a MBA with 4 years forensic exp (D&T) and 6+ years non-forensic exp (industry) in NYC and DC markets expect in this current climate?
Ridiculous offers from competing agencies I'm in the Data and Analytics side of the house, but I know this is affecting everyone. Other agencies poaching analysts, managers, ADs, for what are 2 level up salary promotions. This cannot be sustainable (kids with 1 yr experience, pushing 100k+) What is the future of agency salaries going to be? Are we really going to right size all our paychecks or is this a bubble that will lead to underqualified senior levels being the norm?
EY 🐟: Anyone booked monthly parking spots in NYC? What site did you use? Do you also just expense it as "parking - in town normal commute"?
How do your expenses change once you become a PPED? Are there certain things that you have to pay out of your own pocket rather than expense back to the fi? Also, I remember hearing once that meals on the road for PPEDs or maybe just PPs are a taxable expense. Is this true? What else changes?

M&A pre deal work: is this still usually Monday to Thursday travel? To a central office, acquirer office, or PE/bank?
Some former colleagues at Manager level at B4 left for IB jobs where they joined as Associates. Not sure they got a pay-cut, it’s likely though, but definitely a Title/responsibility/leadership cut in my opinion. How do you feel about either pay-cuts or title cuts when transitioning industries? Does it worth the “cost(s)” if it is really the role you want to move to? (Looking at a possible exit opp, but most likely A or SrA. role at IB boutique, not higher)
I want to do strategy consulting on the side and serve prior clients (and net new clients) directly. How do you all think about pricing (and how much)? Hourly rate? By project? Something in between? One-man shop.

Need advice on whether or not to use an MBA consultant. Any opinions / thoughts appreciated! Situation: just turned down a promotion and quit my job because it doesn’t align with my career goals and was becoming a waste of time. Planning on spending the next 10 weeks studying for GMAT and applying for new jobs/volunteering, then applying R2 for 2021. I have a 3.9 GPA in a non-traditional major (French lit) from a “fake Ivy.” Only M7s I’m interested in are Kellogg and Sloan. (Cont.)
Help discuss pros and cons. I have a case that's based on a previously litigated matter now brought against another D. I can bring it in State Court where other D was or I can bring it in Fed Court through Diversity. I trust State Court judges in this court and the filing fee is alot less. It might be removed anyway so should I just file in Fed Court?

Signed an offer last year during the worst of the pandemic for a lower level than my peers. Been with the firm 5 months now. Looking for advice: Would you recommend leaving to get the level you deserve outside of the firm with short stint on resume, or sticking through it with the firm knowing promotion is not guaranteed in same timeframe?
QQ: is the company’s 401k part of the TC calculation or do I ignore it. Pwc has a 1.5% match but my offer from industry has a 6% match.
