Good luck to you! Could it be expense related? My experience is the complete opposite - they haven’t been to the store since February, scared about going outside unless it’s to a remote park or something. Pretty much all East Asians (I’m Korean / Chinese) I know via family are like that. The only people I know who got covid are through work
If she tests positive then she won’t be able to work, so I guess yes, it is expense related. I’m not sure what their expenses are (mortgage is paid off afaik) but she’s afraid she’ll be let go from her factory if she gets sick. I think it’s incredibly short sighted considering my dad. I have been sending money for several months but I’m not sure I have the means to fully support them without knowing what else they have going on. I can’t have a logical transparent conversation with them without her victimizing herself and making me out to be condescending which maybe I am but I am just so so worried.
Shout louder. Works for me.
Ha wish it worked for me. I’m sure I already pissed off my neighbors plenty
Why is she against testing? Can she at least wear a mask around your dad? This could seriously be a situation of life or death. Shout louder. My parents are nurses and get tested weekly. They haven’t even held my 8 month old baby or taken off their mask unless separated by a window. If healthcare professionals who see firsthand all of the devastation that COVID causes take it seriously, why can’t the general public.
I’m sorry OP. I guess if she’s showing symptoms your dad’s likely been exposed for a while. I really hope for your family’s sake it’s nothing. But they really should isolate from everyone else for 2 weeks.
