Anyone else’s typical non-depo, non-mediation day look like mine? 8:30 - 10:00 court appearance via Zoom or Court Call with a ton of emails from support staff regarding routine things. 10-4:00 quiet time for drafting, research, etc. 4:00-7:00 emails and phone calls from opposing counsel either responding to my email from 3 days prior or to make a request. I’m busiest at the start and end of my day.

I work from 8-5. No lunch break. So I can get home and see my kid. 8-10 reviewing/responding to emails. Rest of the day is reviewing things and drafting pleadings. I do a lot of med mal so lots of records to review. Delos on random days but maybe only once every two or three weeks.

I used to get scheduled for intakes and client meetings from 9 am to 5 pm with zero breaks. I had to explain to the staff who were scheduling that I need at least fifteen minutes in there somewhere to eat something and to use the bathroom because I can’t hold it for eight hours.

Work started getting done after 5 pm.

How do you capture routine emails? I get stuck doing invoice/accounting follow up for vendors (experts). The f/u is necessary to manage relationships. They wont be happy (to continue prepping case for trial) if the bill isn’t paid. But my secretary is adamant this is not her job (it’s accounting’s job). To be fair, she does support 2 other attorneys along with me. So I’m the one doing the admin work. I’m curious how other attorneys bill the routine admin stuff.

The smaller company has good benefits, great wlb and a great culture per Glassdoor reviews. But its an HR software and not easy to sell.
Compensation is similar.

I have cleared all the interview rounds (WebEx & HR on call) for the position: VERIFIER, and also submitted documents (authentic as per my knowledge) for background verification on Aug. 25, 2022.
