I chose option 2 and regret sacrificing lifestyle.
Cons: The hours are difficult and the team scope is broad bc the company is in hyper growth mode. The job impedes my social life as I can’t go out on weekdays and am exhausted on weekends (no change from consulting there😁). The standards are high bc the strategy team has high visibility.
Anyone here who works at Robinhood or familiar with their hiring process willing to connect about what they look for in a product management candidate? My SO has director level experience but it is most recently with a startup so recognize he doesn’t have the brand recognition of a larger company. Thanks fish!
Totally different industries. You’ll have a lot more diversity of intelligence and scrappiness in entertainment. I’d guess they pay much less than consulting as well except at the top spots. But much more opportunity to start your own thing or take risks with partners.
It’s dream 1 though. Pursue it. Sounds like you are young and if you don’t like it you can always bounce somewhere
PWC 1 - thanks for the perspective! I’ve actually restarted once already and took a demotion to transition from digital analytics to digital media buying. The open spots in the festival/entertainment industry are either very entry level, mid-level in PR or operations, or very upper-level in marketing/media. The spots in digital consulting are more relevant to my current work experience, and while I call it dream #2, it’s really not that far behind. Do you happen to work on PWC’s digital services accounts? Any insight you can share would be great! 😊🙏🏻
