HR in hospitals: Can people negotiate? I feel like the hospitals are so strict that there’s no wiggle room. I figure with the nursing shortage, I would have the upper hand, but not the case. Ultimately, I left my job for 10 months on good terms—personal issues. Thought I could return within a year and keep seniority. Turns out there was only a 6 month window. I’m fighting to get seniority back after being there almost 15 years (to get more vacation time/higher accrual) and HR won’t budge.Help!

Not Portugal but lived in Spain. Yes, Westeym Europe (Spain, France, Italy) is pretty rainy that time of year. I went to Portugal in May and it rained, and while that meant no beach, if you were in the city and dressed warmly, it wasn’t bad. Just have a good list of indoor museums or palace touring for those rainy days!
For me waterproof thigh high flat boots kept me warm! I wore skirts and sweaters and didn’t even wear a jacket most of the time but I don’t get cold that easily
I went to Lisbon, Sintra and the Algarve over Thanksgiving a few years ago and it was fine. The Algarve was too cold to swim, but the views were stunning.
